Well I don't think I ever got postpartum depression when I gave birth but now I feel like I do. Does anyone knows if postpartum depression still hit you after 5 years later. I don't know what else to call it. I feel like I'm getting it. I don't think I ever gotten it. Does anyone have any info?

Yes, it occurs in women when that child is even five years later. Women also still lactate for that long. Years after they have weened the child off of the breast.

Either way, your feelings are real. Any and all forms of depression are to be taken seriously. It affects your mind, body and feelings. So you are exhausted because it takes a toll on you mentally, physically, and emotionally.

The good news is a lot of times it is temporary or situational.

Definitely see a DR and explain all your symptoms. He may prescribe Medication or Therapy or even both. Just know it doesn't make you less than which ever form you decide is right for you. Please don't ignore what's happening. And I am proud of you for acknowledging it in the first place. You are not imagining this. It is real and it's important to address it ASAP. Good luck, Deidre

Most mothers get it 2 months after having a baby, it isn't too common afterwards. That doesn't mean it isn't possible. My advice is to talk to a doctor about it. Best wishes!
