how many out there are starting Kindy 2012, for those born in March 07? is this a good idea?

My elder daughter starts primary school this year. She has been in Nursery (British version of Kindergarten) since she was two. My younger daughter is two and starts Nursery this year.

My son will start kinder in the fall, also, and I am a little anxious about it. My other two boys were considered "old" when they started due to their Oct and Dec birthdays so it will be interesting to see how my youngest adjusts. He has been in a half-day pre-k program for the past couple of years and is doing well, but still seems immature at times so I am hoping he grows a bit emotionally this spring/summer. It seems everyone I know who has children with spring/summer birthdays holds them until the following year, so I was glad to read an opinion piece in the NY Times recently saying it may actually not be a good idea to do that. It made a good point, I'd rather have my child slightly challenged each day rather than completely bored. my daughter will start Kindy in 2012 and i think its a great idea. she's ready. She has been in a day school since 18 months, this is the next step and a good idea. Good luck

I'm starting taylor who will be 5 on 3/2/07 in kindergarten in fall 2012. She already goes to preschool/DC. I hope she wil be ready but it hink we are going to struggle with her because of her attitude and she has a really hard time with why? Questions. But her older brother(just turned 6 in oct) is going to kindergarten this year and she is super jealous. She wants to go to the big school.

My daughter will be starting Kindergarten in 2012 and I think it is a good idea she has been going to a Montessori School for a year and a half and loves it and I feel she needs that interaction for her develpoment and also for socialization.

I agree. My son stared preschool at 3 and is on schedule to be in Kindergarden in 2012. I hope he will be ready. My parents did the same thing for me. I do think it is a bad idea for him but we'll see. He may not be ready. I'd rather hold him back now vs. waiting until elementary school. We'll see.

My daughter will be starting Kindergarten in 2012. She is currently in Pre-K at a Mopntessori school which has been the best thing for her.

We will be. My March 07 daughter London went to 3 year old preschool last year, and is attending 4 year old preschool this school year. So she will be all set and ready for kindergarten next year!
