How to get my 2 year old son potty trained?

I worked really hard to get my son to potty train and he wouldn't until i stopped working so hard. I still haven't go him to go number 2 as he would say on the toliet yet. They will do it when they are ready. The more you force it the longer it will take.

at the daycare i worked at we would do underwear all day and have the kid sit on the potty ever 1/2 hr to every hr. and i know its alot of work but they will get thats where they are suppose to go.

try giving a few skittles or some treat like that, if he pees in the potty he gets a few skittles...and make a huge deal if he does go pee pee..Children want to please their parents..Also I have to potty train him cause my husband is in the military and not home half the time..so a lot of times when I am "pee peeing in the potty" he wants to pee pee in his!

Have patience. My son is 2 and a half. I try off and on with him. But he's just not ready yet. So I put him back in diapers. I ask him and he says, no potty.. so I dont force him. He will start when he's ready physically and mentally... Patience is the key..

i am in the middle of potty training my litte girl i found that the sticker charts are great try using one of them start by giving him a sticker just for sitting on it at first and work your way up as he gets used to sitting on it make a really big deal out of every time he does give him lots of praise i also found a black sticker on ebay that changes to a picture when they go for a wee it it changes back to black after a little while and lasts about 12weeks they are great hope this helps let me know how it goes good luck :)

My son is 2 yrs old, and I have been training him for about a week now. Sometimes he will come to me and tell me, I have to pee. Sometimes, I'll take him to use the pot and he'll use it. Buying pullups has helped because he doesn't like to have on a wet pullup.

Sorry my respond was meant for you. We let our son pee in the shower or garden. He is potty trained for day time, it just takes patience.

My son is potty trained for day time, still using nappies at night though, we let him pee in the shower or garden, we also leave him without any undies/nappie. He has some accidents sometimes. It just takes patience. Keep Trying.

With my 2 year old she has been potty trained about 2 motnhs now I let her run around naked at home and I also took her to walmart and let her pick out her own "SPECIAL" big girls panties. So try that but then again she was so easy just kind of went with the flow.

sit him back wards on the potty and just let him go do it about every 30 mins and he will go just give him time i have 2 younger bros and that is how my mom did it every boy in my fam was trained that way try it and get back to me i would like to know if it works for u

Hmmmm my son wont even sit on it yet! He'll act really really excited about it and then we get in there and he's like nah! So if you figure it out let me know. Just wanted to wish you luck!
I'm a single mother of three and I work full time, I think if I had more time in the day I may be able to do it but I don't know. I don't know if its fair to ask his babysitter to help me with it or not.

Potty training can be very frusterating. My son is 2 1/2 and is now potty trained with the exception of bed time. When he started showing intrest in the potty I bought him some books on going potty. His favorite is "A potty for me". I would read this to him everyday and he started getting more and more interested in the potty. The other thing I did was put an oversized duck in the toilet and had him aim at it. Sometimes I would switch it up and put a boat in there and he thought it was fun. Those were the ideas that were helpful to me. Good Luck with your training and hang in there!

what i did every thirty minutes i would take my little girl to the bath room and yea it took a month but she is well potty trained now

If you can, let him run around naked. I have floors that are easy to wipe up so I let my 2 1/2 yr old son run around naked when it's possible and he just goes to the bathroom all on his own. I found out that the whole pull ups thing doesn't work though. I tried with both kids and they just treated them as diapers. I've noticed that boys do train later than girls do though, and after my expirenece with the oldest, when he's ready he'll let you know and YOU better be ready. Good luck.

boy's potty train late usually. My son was three and a half before he was completly trained. They will let you know when they are ready. I know it can be frustrating but hang in there!
