My son will be 3 in March and I have had issues with his speech. He is currently in speech therapy offered through the state(early intervention I think). It has helped him so much and he just loves his therapist. She comes to our house every other Thurs for 45mins. This therapy has really changed him and me. We don't have our crying sessions(me too) because I don't understand what he's saying to me. He's much more social and interactive now. One of the reasons I was concerned about his speech was because his twin sister speaks so eloquently(she's like a little adult) otherwise I probably would not have noticed quite so much. Ask your Pediatrician what the state might offer.

My almost 3yr old in march, was not saying much as her older sister would talk for her and when we asked indiana a question again her sister would answer. the past few months she has started saying more things clearly. i find when she sings along to songs the words are said clearly.

My almost 3 year boy doesn't talk much just a few words here and there and not very clearly. His older brother and sister are fine, so i'm just hoping he'll catch up soon

We have 3 two year olds that are in speech therapy. One is not improving at all, and we're thinking he's autistic like his older brother at this point, so the school is going to begin using communication boards with him after his 3rd birthday (March).

My son also has the same problem. Most of his sentences are hard to understand and broken. Sometimes he puts his hand on my mouth as I say a word, it helps a little but hasn't helped enough. I'm so glad he is not alone.

I would request an evaluation, this sounds like my DD too, she turns 3 in March and is is speech therpy for a year now. She gets speech through our state infant and toddler program and will be going to the school system on her third birthday.

My daughter is also in speech therapy, she will be 3 in March, it has helped so much! They do include some sign language in the process to help them communicate with you, it's actually quite easy :) Good luck!

I have a son who didn't start getting speech help till he was almost three. He will be 4 on the 21 of January, and I have a 2 ( 3 at the end of March) who has been in speech sence he was 18 months. I will tell you that my youngest is doing better then the older because of getting the help earlyer, but my 4 year old has inproved gratly so it will help your daughter it will just take time.

honestly, I don't think I would pick up sign language that well. The only reason my son started early was that I had a daughter with the same problem. I didn't get her started with anything until she was 3. And she still has speech delay at 5 and a half. To make sure my son didn't have to go through the same thing, I had him tested early.

We got her in late because everyone told me it wasnt a big deal...I should have listened to my gut... she will be starting in early childhood this month. Have you thought of sign language? I wonder if it would help or hurt...sigh
