Hi, I have a 23 month old daughter, Alaina, who has an inguinal hernia. She has been fine for 2 weeks, but the doctor feels she still needs the surgery to prevent any future incidence. The doctor tells me that she will be fine after the surgery, and that she will be up and running in no time. I'm hopeful!!
Has anyone's child gone through this type of surgery around this age? How were they?
Thanks, Jolanta

Hi there, dont fret about your little girls surgery, i worked in a childrens day surgery operating theatre and have seen many done. she will probably be a little grizly when she wakes up but she will be up in no time. its a simple procedure and nothing to worry about. my son had a general anaesthetic at 18 months and was up and running 20 mins after we got him from recovery! they are alot braver than u think. good luck
