Since this is my fifth boy i do not plan on teaching him to stand ever he will do it on his own. I would pefer never for the fact boys are sloppy when they stand up and pee but they all do stand in their own time.

Don't wait. I used a product called Splashy the Splashdown Trainer. It keeps him from making a mess and it has some encouraging words too.

Dont force him, if he wants to stand up or sit down its up to him really. My little boys is 2 and half and has been potty trained for about 6 months. He sometimes stands up to wee because his daddy does it but i would just leave him to it, he will do it in his own time :)

Your son will decide to stand up when he is ready. Let him go to the loo with daddy and than he should show him how it is done. Once he gets curios he will start on his one. It will all happen on his time..... Good luck.

James' cousin who is 3 taught him how to stand and pee. I still would rather him sit since we are still trying to train number 2. But he is doing real well this week.

i have a daughter but iwork at a day care in thepotty training age class yippy lol... we have the boys stand usually i think it works best to potty train them that way but having them put their arms out and lean forwad holding onto the top of the toilet worked best that way they are leaning over the bowl its hard to get them to understand they need to hold their penis down so this seemed to work that way its directly shot into the toilet!! :)

Mine only pees on his own standing up when he is in the tub. I need help getting him to do it on the potty. He sits on the potty but will never pee in it, even when he tells me he has to go! But he'll stand up in the tub and say, "mommy look I pee", go figure.....

I started potty training my March 08 son sitting down and then one day he decided on his own that he wanted to pee standing up. Ocassionally, my son will follow his father into the bathroom, stand next to him, and try to match his daddy (he hasn't made it yet but then again he is only 2)....

Good for you to have him potty trained, My son will try to go on the potty. My 5 year old i got him to sit for the longest time, to me it's much cleaner, no pee over the seat. When he's at school or shopping he stands. I make sure he wipes up his drips.

Make sure he is very comfortable at going to the potty before starting to show him how to "pee pee like a big boy". U dnt want him standing up to pee pee when he has to do number 2.

My nephew has only just learned to do 'Big Boys Wees' and he is 3 1/2. He is however now very proud of the fact he 'wees just like Daddy'.
