my daughter is almost 1 and she has the funniest crawl! we have hardwood floors in our house and she refuses to crawl on it! she does this scoot thing where one leg is infront and the other is in the correct position...on carpet she crawls just fine though. For awhile i though something was wrong with her. i was wondering if anyone else's child has this bazaar behavior!

My little girl used to crawl on one knee, one foot (like Cathy Lam's little guy)- its looked very funny, but the paed said theirs nothing wrong. Co-incidence that we ALSO have wooden floors? If you're concerned though, have her checked for shallow hip sockets or Hip Dysplasia...

We have hardwood floors as well, and my daughter does a similar crawl, one leg in the proper position, and her other leg she kind of uses the foot to push/pull herself along. She's super fast too. She's furniture walking now, and will stand on her own for a few seconds and sometimes take a couple of steps by herself, so I didn't even worry about the little 3-point crawl she does. I think every baby is different, my nephew did a little bum scoot backwards for the longest time, and he runs around like crazy now :D

my little boy used to do the normal crawl, and about a month ago, it kinda changed. we have hardwood floors too, so i don't know if it started hurting his knees or something, but he crawls with his left leg bent crawling on his knee like normal, but his right leg, he now crawls putting his foot down on the ground. looks halarious, but he actually moves really fast!! i was thinking maybe this was also a transition to walking?!?!?

My twins both did this army type crawl, it wasn't they "standard" comando cawl though, it was more of a pull with the arms drag with the legs. I thought it was strange when my son started doing it but then 2 months later his sister did it exactually the same way. They crawled like that up until a month and a half ago and now the crawl "normal".

Well, my son didn't have a signature move, but a little girl at the kindy he goes to did the same kind of thing, although it was like a monkey crawl and she got along pretty quickly! we have another little one who does an army crawl, with her forearms
