I think my baby is ready to drop his first nap?? For the last week, his morning nap is only 30-40 mins long, and today, only 20 mins. Anyone's baby drop their morning nap yet? How do you know when they're ready to? Cuz I'm not sure since he's still tired enough to still be napping a bit??

My daughter has dropped her morning nap. She is tired by noon, but if I lay her down in the morning she will not sleep in the afternoon, so the am nap has been dropped. Also if he is waking up earlier in the morning it may be a sign that he's ready to go down to 1 nap a day.

I think that's what my son is doing too! His naps in the morning have gone from one-two hours down to 20 minutes today ... I tried laying him down a few times and he's just not having it. I think it might something that just happens because he seems pretty content.

My son actually started skipping his afternoon  nap. So we pushed his morning nap closer to 12 and now he takes just one 2-3 hour nap. So far this new schedule seems to be working well for us.

yah, i don't think he's dropping his 1st nap anymore!! the last few days, both his naps have been 1-1.5 hours!! must have been just a phase... i hate that just when i think i have his scheduale figured out, he just goes and changes it on me!

My little one seems to be doing the same. I think i've finally worked it out that it depends on when they wake. If she wakes beore 7.30 she takes a nap otherwise we just do the afternoon nap.

My girls really seem to be shifting as well.  I have been trying to ride it out with two naps but one of them really fights the morning nap now.  I am still trying to stick with two because the morning nap was their best nap!!  I say even if he sleeps for just 20 minutes let him do it.  How long will his afternoon nap usually be then?

Zachary used to get up at 6:30/7, have a bottle, and go back to bed until almost 9. Now he just sleeps until 8:30 and is up until about 11:30. Then he has a nice long afternoon nap from about 3ish until anytime now (it's 5:30 now) and he's up until 9pm. I'm sure I'm just lucky with that, but it did take some getting used to his new schedule.

My daughter dropped her morning nap about 3 weeks ago. She still has a 1 1/2 hour - 2 hour nap after lunch and has started going to be 1/2 hour earlier. I think she still needs the same amount of sleep she has just shifted the time a bit. Maybe your little one will do the same?!
