Hi everyone,

Welcome to the March 2008 Babies community, where we chat about our March 2008 children and whatever else is on our minds!

To get things started, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves in this thread, which will be pinned to the community home page. Whether you're a Circle of Moms veteran or you're new to the site, let us know who you are, what you’re interested in, and what your lovely March 2008 child is up to right now, developmentally speaking!

Hi everyone! My name is Cindy and I have two beautiful little girls! Alexis (who was born 4/19/10) and my March baby Rebecca! Rebecca was born on March 25, 2008 via c-section! She started walking on her own at about 10 or 11 months and hasn't stopped since! lol She is just now starting to make two word sentences! She can say jink(drink), dank(thank), yeah and hi! Seeing as there is an infant in my house now, Rebecca really keeps my hubby and I own our toes. I am a staay at home mom. I also attend Axia College of the University of Phoenix which is the online division! Doing this allows me to stay home with the girls! My hubby works outside the home so I take care of the girls! Luckily, we live with his mom in West Virginia so things are a whole lot easier! I look forward to chatting with everyone sooner or later!

Hi everyone. My name is Kadian and my son Wasteen turned 2 on the 29th of March. Wasteen is a ball of energy, very inquisitive, and extremely independent. He loves to be outside running, jumping, and playing. He also loves to dance and does so very well, thank goodness for that because dad has two left feet..lol. Anyway, we are currently potty training him which is taking a lot longer than I would like but I heard that boys can be harder to train. Developmentally he is learning a ton of words each day, and he is beginning to use them in sentences..Yeah! He says his ABC's and numbers and enjoys reading and being read to. I am having so much fun with him at this stage and feel truly blessed to have him in our lives:)

Hi

I am Sarah, I am from Christchurch New Zealand - My daughter, Alexia Willow (Lexi) was Due Feb 22nd 2008 but decided she wanted to stay put for an extra 9 days and was finally born march 2nd (beating the induction by hours).

She is just the most divine wee petal ever to walk the earth.

I also have an 11 year old son called Theo - Theo came to live with my husband and I when he was 6 and I now have custody and guardianship of him. He is a great kid.

I have been a solo mother since August 2009 - I am nmuch happier on my own.

I'm Kelly, my son, Charlie, was born on 30th March 2008... I'm a single mum and have been since day one. The two of us live with my parents so ours isn't exactly a 'conventional' home set-up..

Charlie's speech has developed rapidly over the last couple of months.. he's always ready to try saying new words. He can count from one to ten (and backwards again if the numbers are infront of him) and can identify some letters of the alphabet already..

I love watching him learning new things - and seeing his excitement when he masters a new word or activity! I could sit and watch him engrossed in play for hours... children - especially at this age - are amazing, fascinating creatures!!
He's just made the transition from cot in mummy's room to big bed in his own - which, at 2 years old, is very late - and took it all in his stride. One unsettled night was all it took!! I think I miss him being in with me more than the other way around!! ;)

The most difficult challenge for me at the moment is finding the best, most effective way of dealing with Charlie's raging temper... he gets very aggressive - mostly with me (thank god not other children!), usually made worse by tiredness... I have tried EVERYTHING - from time-,out; ignoring him / leaving the room; getting down to his level to tell him he's doing wrong - I have even smacked (not hard) his hand on a couple of occasions when he's been particularly spiteful... nothing seems to get through to him that it just isn't acceptable behaviour!! (and yes, I do realise that smacking his hand gives mixed signals and is as good as telling him it's okay to smack because mummy did it...)

On the whole - for someone who wasn't going to have children (this is what I said up until around July 2007!) and very few maternal bones in her body - I love being a mum.. Charlie is my life, my inspiration, my motivation and I would do anything to make sure feels safe, loved and happy... he is the best unplanned thing that ever happened to me...

I guess my next mammoth challenge will come when he starts asking why he hasn't got a daddy like all the other children...!

one step at a time xxx

Ok doke, I am a mother of 2. I was priviledged with a boy and a girl, a gentleman's family, as a wee old biddy told me once. My son was born on March 11th 2008. Difficult pregancy, difficult delivery but worth it. My daughter was born on December 6th 2004, easy pregnancy, easy delivery bundle of giggles and curls! I had post natal depression with both and am currently still getting over it this time round!

Hello everyone! my name is Tiffany im 22 and i have a 2 year old daughter named Braelyn. I am currently expecting our second child. Braelyn is able to speak both english and spanish. Right about now she can say about 80 words.. divided in half english and spanish. She loves to talk about her little brother(she says it's a boy)/sister . She climbs on everything and sometimes falls, she loves watching tv especially Dora and Nihao ki-lan.She loves to go to the park and run around, especially when it's time to go she loves to run away. One of her favorite words is of course "no" My husband works 12-13 hours a day 6 days a week and i am home all the time with our lovely two year old. She is able to pick up her toys when you ask her. Especially when you tell her that you will give her a cookie if she does it.

[deleted account]

I'm Sonia and I have a son Gui was born on 15/03/08. I am Portuguese but I live in England and my husband and I always talked to him in both languages. He started chattering around 3 months, crawling around 6months, standing at 7months and walking around 15 months. He runs and jumps but so far he says daddy, papa, hello, ola, bye, xixi, pooh, titi(biscuit), Ju(juice), naa(no), yeah, one, two, pffff, ja esta( it's done-in portuguese) He's always smiling and laughing. He's mommy's boy and makes me feel blessed for being mom of such a sweet little one.
I am a bit worried that he doesn't much at this time, but the GP says it's normal, specially because we talk to him in 2 languages at the same time.
What's your experience?

My name is Angie and i have a daughter named A'kquilla , she was born 22.03.08 . She was such a joy and a well placid baby, now that she has turned 2 yrs old , it is definately true what they say about the "terrible two " stage lolz. She is very active and very talkative and very forward. She says a few words and can understand what we say to her , and she loves dancing music etc.

I enjoy every moment with her and she loves her big brother very much and loves to play and loves going to the park and wants to stay on the swing for hours.

I would love to hear from other mumz out there who share similar interests like me.

Thanx xoxox

i am rosemary. i have been married for 10 years and together with my husband for 18 yrs. We met in our church youth group. We have two children...Carter, who is 6 and Scarlett, who is 2, born March 24th of 2008.

My hobbies and interests all have to do with art. i am a starving artist but love it anyway. i am starting to make money at it- my problem is that i give it away more as gifts than anything. i am a stay-at- home mom for medical reasons.

My little 2 yr old girl always has a mouthful. She can talk your ear off and you can understand every word she says. When she turned 2 last month it was like she was already like a 5 yr old. That was sad. She is very smart and her favorite things to do are take care of her babies and play school. She is very sweet and witty and keeps us roaring with laughter. My son is the same way. They are both hilarious.

Thank you for this group. i know i will have questions and i hope there are people here who are sharing a lot of the same with me right now...Discipline is hard when they are so cute, but it's easier to do it now when they are two unstead of waiting til they are twelve.

My life has changed soooooooo much. It's awesome having kids though.

I'm Delwyn and my wee man is Hamish. He's generally a loving, funny and bright little boy, although he is hitting the so called terrible twos (his birthday was March 6th). However I know for the most part this is down to frustration on his part at not being able to communiate so well yet. Hamish isn't talking yet, I think in part out of stubborness because he lets slip the odd word and has a vast range of animal impersonations. He walked unaided at 10 months and has been on the go ever since.

He wants to do anything that his older brother wants to do, he just wants to do it himself. He learned to defend himself at a very early age since his older brother thought that the best way to get his way was to kick butt first and ask questions later.

Hello!

Im Cassidy, my daughter Julia Katelyn just turned 2 March 4. 10 days before my bday, so in essence we are alot alike. Talk about paying for your raising!! lol. Julia is smart as a whip hates having a dirty pull up she has basically potty trained herself. The only downfall so far, is being woke up at 6 am in the morning with my daughter holding her own poop in my face saying: " mommy yukky poo poo" ..

Julia is the middle child she has a 3 yr old sister and a 5 month old brother, but dont tell her that she's convinced shes still and will always be the baby :).

Tony started walking around 14 months, and he is only just beginning to put two words together to make sentences. he doesn't have a lot of words and generally likes the short words - favorites being poo and bum :) If you ask him a question he will generally show you or if he doesn't know its just 'gone!'. I am a stay at home mum, I love being a mother although I do enjoy my quiet day when the kids go to daycare - decided to do this for a break for me and socializing for them. I also love scrap booking, cross stitch and reading but don't get as much time to do any of these things anymore.

Hi! My name is Preethi. I have a 2 year old daughter, Aadhya. Its been a fun trip till now with lot of supraises along the way. She started crawling, walking quite early and hence was enrolled in a playschool by the time she was 1.3! As expected she did fall sick almost every month and hence I took her out after about 5 months into it.

Since she was close to her 2nd Bday there has been rapid increase in her height and weight! I guess this is normal. As a first time mom I do panic for every small little things. If I don't see her put on any weight... then its like HO! God I hope I am feeding her well.... now that she has started putting on some... its like.. I Hope she doesn't become overweight :)))

Aadhya understands 3 different languages. Hindi, English and Kannada. But when she talks its a mixture of all 3 languages. Hence sometimes its hard for a person to understand what she is saying :) She loves going through her books (not reading, she is quite impatient when it comes to mommy trying to read a book for her), looking at big animal, vegetable, fruits, birds pitchers... and does recognize about 60% of them :) She hates coming back home from the garden or park. She loves playing outdoor games. She does help mommy in picking up her things laying around the house when its time to clean up. Does share her toys and food. Loves feeding her toys too...All in all she's a wonderful kid! expect... that I don't want to talk abt her sleep :(

Pavan, my husband is a "hands on" dad. He takes wonderful care of Aadhya whenever he is around. Either at home or outside inspite of us having extra help at home. He has been a wonderful support all along the way. After having Aadhya our bonds have become much stronger, I must say. Our respect for eachother has increased quite a bit and we do understand when anyone of us needs a break or time away from home for a short while.

I am a full time mom at this moment, I mean, a home maker. Would love to start something new but plan to do it from home. I used to teach Bhathnatyam, Indian Classical Dance, and work at a consulting firm before getting pregnant.

Sometimes I wonder, if staying home with Aadhya has made me possesive abt her?! I do sometimes go crazy if she doesn't eat or sleep well. But I do let her choose her way out. We don't force her too much into anything.

This is my story till now. Hope its not too long to read :D

Do post your comment or compliment!
