My son born March 12th likes his cherrios, have any of you tried those mesh soother like things where you put your fruit or veg inside and the baby can chew and chew and nothing comes through but little tiny pieces? Do they work?

I saw them at Super Store and Wal Mart. I thought about trying one. Was going to pick it up next time i go shopping.

I have a couple of those for my 9 month old son. I put frozen fruit in them and he loves it!!! It's also great for when your baby is teething.

We have one that our son is just now using. We use it for oranges, apples etc. It is great to have around even if you only need it a handful of times. It also helps with teething! I like it. It could get to be a pain in the rear to clean out because some very well chewed food gets caught on the inside but you can just turn it inside out to clean it off and throw it in the dishwasher and its good for next use! Hope that helped.

love the mesh bags by munchkin. I put froze fruit in their and my son loves it. He also eats the cheerios and the gerber graduates, he likes the cheese doodles the best.

Love it! We started using it when Nevin was about 6 months or so and helped to promote fresh fruist and veggies. Does make a mess but worth it to have the real stuff. I don't let her crawl around with it- it's for her table chair. When Nev is finished, I wash it out and have no problems cleaning it at all. I would imagine if you left it and didn't wash it right away like dishes, then sure, you would have a more difficult time cleaning it.

I have friends that have been pretty successful with them but my boy never wanted much to do with them, he preferred to chew on the plastic handle. I just let him keep eating cheerios and the gerber puffs for finger food. Another great option are Baby Mum Mums at Whole Foods - they are HUGE rice or veggie crackers and I think my boy really liked having something big to hold on to. They turn to complete mush the minute they get wet.

i love the mesh bags...especially for teething...i just put ice cubes in them and he goes to town...with certain fruits (watermelon for example) they can get a little messy...the juice tends to run everywhere

Yeah I have used them. If you do use it make sure you strip him down to his diaper. They are messy but lots of fun.

We got one when my daughter started teething, we sliced up some bananas and froze them. She loves the banana taste and it felt good to her teeth!

We bought them for my daughter a couple months ago and she loved them! I agree with what the other moms are saying about them getting messy and hard to clean.. but let your child explore and if they get messy so what.. Thats what kids do best! And yes you can buy the replacement nets for them as well. Like Lara said, give it a try! :D

We use this all the time and have since my girl was about 5 months. She loves it for fruit. It is messy, but what eating isn't messy with a baby? =) Also, they sell the bags to replace so even if you cant get them as clean as you may like, you can just replace for not too much $. It is great for stuff with skins (grapes, pears, ect) when you dont want to take the time to peel. Pick one up-cant hurt to try it! =)

Haven't tried one. My daughter eats the Gerber puffs and Cheerios and she loves them. I also bought some frozen cut up veggies (carrots, greenbeans, corn and peas) and fixed those for her and she liked them. Easy for her to pick up and eat.

I have never tried them, but I've heard bad things and our doctor said they weren't good... but I forget why...

I haven't used one of the mesh thingys, but I've heard from friends how have that they are horrible to clean. Stuff gets dried and they make a real mess around the house. You might just try the Cheerrios by themselves. We've started our little girl on the Gerber Graduates. They are pretty similar to Cheerios, but maybe disolve a little quicker.
