My daughter just turned 1 in June and she just got her bottom 2 teeth about a month and half
ago. At least I know I am not alone in this. It was kinda worrying me also. But my pediatrician also said it was normal. Now it's just a matter of playing the waiting game.

My daughter got her 1st tooth at about 11 months.... then all over a suddon (a few weeks later) she got 3 more!! All children are different..... She was also born with a full head of hair.... yet a friend of mines 2 year old hardly has any!! The rest of your babies teeth will come when they're ready! Take care. :)

My Daughter got 2 teeth back in November, So at 8 months and then is just now, at 14 months, getting more. She is actually getting 5 at once. I was told that the longer it takes for them to come in the stronger the teeth... not sure if it is really true... lol
Michelle - posted on 05/11/2009
I would say that it is perfectly normal. Although my 14 month old has 8 teeth a lady that I work with has a son that just recently got his 7th tooth and he will be 2 this month. She says the doctor told her he was ok so I would not worry too much if I were you. :)

Don't want anyone to think I'm full of it, but our daughter is 14 months and has 16 teeth...Scary I know!! she started teething about 2 months of age and hasn't let up yet. She just finally broke her canine teeth thru, now I think we are done for a year. I hope.

Be grateful for only two teeth. My son had his first two teeth at 3 months, and now he has 12, including two molars! This is no fun when it comes to breastfeeding, and he LOVES to bite everything-- couches, tables.. PEOPLE! I wish he only had two teeth. =)

I have 2 boys and they both got their teeth really fast. My 13 month old has 11 teeth right now including 3 molars. I think that every child is completly diffrent and develops diffrent milestons at diffrent times. I wouldnt worry about it at all.. Im sure your doctor woul tell you its completly normal!

My daughter only has her bottom two teeth and shows no sign of cutting any more soon. I am not too worried though, I have heard it is better for the strength of the babies teeth to come later.

William has seven teeth, but only had two until about 11 months then the rest came through overnight.. If you are worried about it, go see the dentist but it's completely normal not to have any at all at this age.

my daughter turned one on march 28th she got her first two bottom teeth in sept around 6months then she got her 2 front teeth at 9months her 3rd one on the bottom came in march. so she has five teeth and my friends daughter is 16month and has 12 so it depends on the child and they will. make sure you have meds.

My Son has had 9 teeth, then had 2 go back, then had one come back to make it 8, then one went back so he had 7 now he has 8 again :p Apparently even THAT is normal according to the dentist and my doctor. It's heck dealing with teething pain for the same 2 teeth over and over again :p

Every child is different and they shouldn't be compared to each other. All that accomplishes is unneeded worries. If you have any concerns a question to the ped is the best approach.
To answer the question... My son (turned one on the 27th) has 7 teeth. Unless #8 has broken through in the last several hours. We've been waiting for #8 for a couple of months now though.

My son had all eight front teeth by six months, and just cut his 2 bottom molars in the last couple weeks. At his 1 year check up, the doc said he was pretty early to have 10 teeth, but that he has seen babies get all their teeth by 6 months, and babies that haven't gotten any teeth til close to 2. I have heard that the later they get them, the less likely they are to problems with them (i.e. need braces). I don't know if that is true though.
Really, don't stress if they aren't the same as other babies, they all develop in their own time. Plus - at least you aren't getting bitten yet!

My oldest son (now 11yrs/old) was 15 months old and only had his 2 front bottom teeth. I remember being concerned and asking the doctor about it and she said that it was totally normal... If fact that it was actually better because baby formula can be harsh on teeth. All of his teeth eventually came in without any problems. Definitely don't stress over it. :) -Somenthing else I have noticed is that it has seemed that his baby teeth have taken a little longer to come out also. Coincidence? ... Maybe?

my daughter just got her first tooth and she turned 1 today but her first tooth is her eye tooth so she is kind of looking like a vampire :S my doctor said it was normal... Im sure your baby will get there first tooth soon enough!
Amber - posted on 03/30/2009
the worst thing you can do is compare him to other babies. My son got 2 teeth when he was 6 months old. until last month thats all he had..and then he got 6 at once. There is nothing you can do but wait..he'll be fine. If he has 2 then he can obviously grow them lol. Babies develop at all different rates. My neighbor has a little girl a week older than my son and she's been walking since before christmas..Landyn isn't even standing without holding on yet! they just develop differently. He's fine :)
