Hi, I was just wondering if your little ones are still taking naps? I was always giving my daughter naps about 5 hrs after she wakes up, she would sleep, mostly 2 hrs but sometimes 3 hrs, then she'd be awake about another 5-6 hrs. I'm not sure if that is the recommended sleep patters for a 2 year old. Lately she's been fighting her naps. She would be screaming or always running out of her bedroom. I just finally gave up on her naps for a few days and now today she went to sleep within half hour of putting her down. I'm just curious of how everyone else's little one is about napping.

My daughter (born March 18) still takes naps. On days that she doesn't, she usually sleeps a lot earlier. But I do like it when she takes her afternoon naps--she is in happier mood throughout the day when she does. She goes to bed at 9pm, wakes up at 8:30am, then naps around 2-3:30pm. The naps usually last for about an hour to an hour and a half.

My youngest son has never slept a lot and now if I let him nap one or two hours in the afternoon (IF he seems tired), he will not go to sleep until midnight!!! If I keep him up during what used to be his nap time, I can put him to bed around 8pm and he will sleep until 7 the next morning.

My daughter (march baby) use to take naps but anymore she refuses to take a nap. My Son who is 4 still takes naps everyday and never refuses to but she does not want to take them anymore and she is turning into a very crabby girl but we have always had them on a bedtime schedule which is 8:30 for her and 9 for him and we make her stay up until her bedtime.

Your daughter sleep and nap pattern seems very much like my daughter. After 5 hours from waking up, she'll nap about 2 to 3 hours, then she stays awake about 7 hours before night sleep of about 8-10 hours. Sometimes when she skips nap, then she can sleep for 12 hours. Yes, she gets hyper too before winding down to sleep. Some of my friends' children need only 15 minutes winding down to sleep. Mine need at least an hour, up to 2 hours to wind down.

my daughter took a nap daily after 1:00 at daycare. Now that we are out of school for the summer she still takes a nap for 2-3.5 hours most days. The days she does not nap is when I keep her awake so she sleeps while traveling. On those days she is horrible and whiny because she is tired. She also goes to bed between 8 -9 and wakes in the morning around 7:30. She will be going back to the same daycare in the fall and will continue to take naps all school year.

One nap, starting around 2 p.m., lasts two or three hours. Once in a while she'll just sit in her crib and talk for an hour or more, but the majority of the time she does still sleep.

My son still naps. It's one of the reasons I'm in no hurry to push weaning. ;) He falls asleep either nursing or in the van and sleeps anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours.

My daughter sleeps from 8-12 hours a night and then naps any where from 30 mins-3 hours during the day. Taking short naps at daycare and longer ones at home.

I wish I had a schedule to provide to you! My daughter has always gone to bed late, around 10:30 or so and slept until anywhere between 7:00 and 10:30. She has been taking 2 or 3 hour naps in the afternoons. You'd think that on the days she skips naps she would go to bed earlier, or sleep longer, but that's not the case at all. For example, Sunday, she took a 3 hour nap in the afternoon, didn't go to bed until 11:00 (we had bad storms and she refused to leave my side) and then slept until 11:00 the next morning. She refused a nap on Monday, but still didn't go to bed until 10:00 and was up at 7:00. She's a mess right now and so am I!

My daughter does not have a nap anymore. I found that if she went to sleep just after dinner, she would not go to bed at night and still be up at 9 plus.

I finally gave up on naps for my little one. I soooo miss the quiet time, usually take a nap too since I also have a 5 mnth old son. Now that she doesn't take naps, she does go to bed earlier :D

No naps for my boy anymore. He never stays in bed. He does go to bed earlier now than he did when he took naps.

Mine still needs his nap but he doesn't always take one! I lay him down about a half hour after lunch, which is about 5 hours after he gets up in the morning. A lot of times he just plays in his crib and talks. I always leave him for an hour or two so he can wind down. Sometimes he gives in and falls asleep, but other times he doesn't. It is very frustrating but he always goes to bed good and sleeps about 11 hours. We did go through a period a while ago where he cried during his naptime and also at bedtime but it only lasted about a month. Thank God that's over!

My little guy does not nap, and has not really ever slept in his life ... he was the type of baby that only needed a few hours of sleep in a 24 hour period to function ... now, he does not nap but goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps 12 hours maybe waking once in the night for a few minutes then going back to sleep again

I haven't been lucky with nap times, my oldest stopped napping well before he was two. And now his brother is just over two, only naps occasionaly for the past few months. Most days I dont fight about it because he goes to bed great and sleeps through the night, only to get up to go pee, so I take what I can get. I figure that he's sleeping on average 12hrs a night so if he needed more he start to get tired throughout the day, but doesn't so I dont worry too much about it. I do miss those couple hrs to myself throughout the day though LOL
