Hi everyone, I am having a birthday party for my son this Friday, he will be 4. I am so uptight about it : ) it is in a church hall. I have no idea what I'm doing, any suggestions for games or activities would be appreciated...I don't want the kids to be bored. the theme is Toy Story. I am having pizza ordered in and I was thinking of having them decorate their own cupcakes or maybe make their own worms and dirt pudding cups. what do you think? thanks for any help you can give me.

Thanks for sharing, they are some really good ideas. I have a toss up between a few themes for my sons next party i just cant make up my mind as i have idea for all of them. I was thinking a pirate party but i could go with dinosaurs, mini carnaval or soccor. So many choices. We always have HEAPS for the kids to do so they NEVER get bored. Activities for kids who what something different, like a table for colouring in, bubbles, playdoh and a blanket for the babies with baby toys, chalk board we have music for dancing, dvds if they want to watch a movie and games set up around the yard (Soccor, basketball and that tennis game with the ball on the string), not to forget the trampoline and Jumping Castle. I LOVE planing my sons party.

thanks Kylie, I ended up going with Pin the tail, pass the parcel, it was a toy story theme so we played a musical game where there were cutouts on the floor, enough for everyone, when the music stopped we pulled a picture from a bag that held the smaller versions of the cutouts on the floor and whoever was standing on the match got a prize, so we used several prizes for that game. the party was held in a church hall so I was nervous the kids would get bored. I did bring baskets of toys from home, I also set up a table with board games, and one for coloring. the kids had alot of fun. my friend had a wonderful party that I might use next year so I'm sharing it with you in case you'd be interested. she did a pirate party, all the kids had eye patches, that they received only after they walked the plank. she had a sandbox where the kids could dig for buried treasure, which was tattoos, there was someone close by to put them on, if my son is still watching Jake and the Never Land Pirates by then, that's what I'll do. let me know if you hear anything interesting or different. thanks so much for replying.

Its a bit late but you may be able to use it for his next party. My son always has a jumping castle so its hard to get the kids off to play the games but a few of the things we normally have is a pinata, pass the parcel, treasure hunt and a pin the badge game (like pin the tale but its a badge, nose, hat or something), waterslide, also my son loves decoration his own cupcakes thats always a big hit at our parties. What games did you end up choosing?
