I need some ideas for a party. I know I have a lil while but I am at a loss on this one. Planning to have it at home, but no theme ideas. She is not really in to any characters she would rather listen to music and sing her ABC's.

We didn't have a theme for my sons first birthday so this year we are doing Elmo. He loves Elmo and all the others. I have found some neat ideas for cakes(just hoping my cake lady can make it). I need to get to our party store and see what they have. I can't believe my little guy is going to be 2~makes me sad.

I agree with an ABC birthday theme. Not sure exactly how to do it. I am, however, thinking of the ABC magnets for refrigerators, the foam tiles, you know, crafty sorts of things. Maybe even the ABC tater tots that most grocery stores sell if you're thinking of giving lunch too. I'm sure you could find cookie cutters too so that you could make sandwich letters or something like that. Either way, I'm sure you'll think of something.

I agree, an ABC party sounds like fun. Or perhaps her favorite color if she has any. Or you can go to your local party stores and see what they all have to offer. I remember for my son's first birthday, I didn't check any of the stores first. I just decided that I wanted to do an Elmo birthday theme. When I went to buy the party supplies, they didn't have any Elmo items at all! So I just bought some Sesame Street items. Then I went to Dairy Queen to order the birthday cake and they didn't have Elmo OR Sesame Street designs. I had to settle on Cars. Brought all the Sesame Street items I bought earlier back in to trade for Cars too.

I just say have fun with it! If shelikes her ABCS why not do an ABC party? Not sure how tomake ABC a birthday theme..but Moms learn to be creative it doesn't have to be a character theme :) For Hannah's first birthday I did flowers...her second will be on the 1st of March and we're going to be in CO visiting family ..so to be honest I have no idea what we'll be doing yet
