I'm new to Facebook (relatively), and just found these groups. My daughter, Mackenzie was born 3/5/08. She'll be one on Thursday, I'm still in disbelief. She's my first. She's still nursing when we're together, and takes formula at daycare exclusively, as I stopped pumping about a month ago. She has never once slept through the night, and I think we've only had 2 nights total that she's slept at least 6 hours. She's tall and skinny, much like her mom, probably high metabolism, but she also isn't incredibly interested in table foods or even baby food. She likes carbs, but fruits, veggies and proteins are a struggle (other than yogurt, which she loves). She's on Pro-Sobee Lipil formula, as the original milk-based gave her exzema.

Hi!

I have an almost one year old too! His name is Cooper and he'll be one this saturday 7th! He has been a very good boy and rarely wakes during the night, was also breastfed up until 9 months exclusively then formula was introduced for daycare, and now he's having a feed every few days... (sounds strange i know!) My son can be a little picky at times too, eating fruits okay one week and then going on strike for 3. i jsut try to fill him up at each meal (brek, lunch and tea) and give him 2 little snacks in between to keep him satisfied. He is on the larger side weighing 11kilos but is also tall for his age. you could try mixing fruit through her yoghurt to get a bit into her and blend meat up with mayo or something to put on a sandwich?? I hope your beautiful bub has a lovely 1st birthday!!

I have three boys 4, 2.5 and 11.5 months. All were breast fed and none slept through the night until well after one years old..more like 16 months old..and they still ge tup once in awhile...Each one would wake up 2-3 times in the night. I know it is exhausting..trus tme I am living through it now and have ben since 2004.....but all of my boys loved food though. My 11.5 month old hates baby food now though that he is eating table food...chicken noodle soup..cut up noodles, pasta, cut up tiny strawberries, wheat bread..little pieces..He now is completely formula fed as of last week and I find that he only wakes once during the night, but wakes again at between 5-6 for another bottle...will go back to sleep if his other bros do not wake him.

Since I'm in your circle of friends, I thought I'd respond to your post. I'm sure that I'm not the person you are looking for advice from....seeing how I am your sister-in-law!!! I'll give it to ya anyhow! The best advice my doctor ever gave me is TRY EVERYTHING and DON'T BE AFRAID THAT SHE'S GOING TO GET FAT!!! I was so scared that Savannah would be overweight if I let her eat certain foods, but babies need fat. I would just let her try everything you eat. Savannah was always off the charts for her weight as a baby and Hadleigh has remained in the 95-97%. Once they start becoming more mobile and playing outside, they start evening out. Hadleigh won't eat anything from a spoon. She wants to feed herself everything, so I let her. I haven't found anything that she won't eat. Except, since she's been introduced to table food, she refuses to eat baby food. She loves those Gerber Graduate meals. Have you tried any of those? As far as sleeping, I feel for ya. Hang in there...it's bound to get better. I still feel it all stems back to food though. Hadleigh seems to sleep a lot more content and longer when she is full! At any rate, Mackenzie may be skinny, but she's so stinkin' cute...WHO CARES??? I can't believe they are about to turn one. You're right, it doesn't seem possible. I think it's about time you start thinking about a little brother or sister for her to play with. LOL!!! Looking forward to the party. We got her gifts and I think she will be happy with them. Let me know if you need any help getting anything ready. Take care and don't beat yourself up over this eating thing. It too shall pass.
