My son will be 2 in just over a week now, just wondering what others will be doing to celebrate their special day?

We did a big party for the 1st birthday which was very fun but not planning one of those again for a few years. This year planning on maybe having the grandparents over for dinner and I'll make a fun cake and celebrating at home with some balloons.

We're going back to the same restaurant we went to last year. They have a nice buffet for such occasions and everyone commented on how wonderful our son's first birthday was! I'll bake his cake, since it's a hobby of mine. And the whole family will be there! It will be a Handy Manny theme.

My son's party theme is Cars the movie. Ordered a cake & cupcakes. We are having it at a fun center that consists of inflatables for the kids to climb, slide, and jump. It is late afternoon so I don't have to supply lunch.

We are having a Mickey party. Choosen by the birthday girl,Gracie. The party kit is at Wal-mart for about $20. Includes everything you need. I am going to download some Mickey coloring pages and have a table set up for the kids to color pages. I purchased the on sale Valentines trinkets from Wal-Mart half price for the gift bags. Things like sunglasses, activity pads, and I am going to put a few crayons in a snack size zip lock bag.

We are having a pool party at the hotel my brother works at. That is what we did last year and it was great. My brother pays for the room since he gets a discount and that is his present to her. My daughter loves to swim. We just had sloppy joes , chips and raw veggies. We also had cake of course. It was really nice once every one went home to have a night at the hotel just me and her.

For my daughter's 2nd bday coming up I plan on doing an elmo themed party. All I am doing is having the family over, and having snacks, punch, and cupcakes. I am going to try to make ea cupcake look like elmos face, lol, wish me luck there :) Not having much decorations besides 3 hanging elmo and balloons. I wanted to do something big, but thought I should wait till she gets older.

my daughter loves Yo Gabba Gabba so that is the theme of our party. Found online some free printable invitations, cake ideas and how to decorate regular balloons to look like the characters. I so wonder where time went.
