anyone else's baby like this?!?!?!

i've tried so many times to teach him to hold it himself, or even just leaving it for him to pick up but he just picks it up and hands it to me and if i refuse to hold it for him, he cries!! he seriously doesn't understand that it is possible for him to do himself!!! lol.

He know how to drink from a straw cup. Maybe I should just stick to those instead. He does put the sippy cup/bottle up to his mouth, but won't drink from it. When he holds it himself, he just thinks it's a toy and starts swinging it around getting milk/juice everywhere --- then I take it away.... maybe that's why he's never learned to hold it!! haha.

My son was the same way. I think he was just not interested. Once I started putting the sippy to my mouth and making a game out of it he started catch on. I am still working on it so I'm not an expert. :) Each time he does hold it up to his mouth I usually help him out by tipping it so he realizes that milk will come out!

My ds was like this as well. He is now 3. But at that age he just didn't understand the whole concept of holding and tipping the cup. Maybe try a straw cup. With my ds to help him understand how to get the liquid out I first handed him a juice box w/ straw and I squeezed it so a little juice came out in his mouth, then I quickly replaced w/ a sippy w/ a straw and he immediately sucked on the straw understanding there was juice/milk inside. Good Luck!
