2 month check up

Penny went for her 2 month checkup last Monday. She took the oral meds perfectly, and the shots went in, she screamed, I picked her up and she was fine. I know I am lucky for that! She did not end up with a fever, and by Tuesday she was kicking like nothing happened. At birth she weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 19 inches long. Now she is 12lbs 3oz and 22 inches long. She has my body type....in the 88th percentile for weight, and 28th for height!!!

OMG, it was horrible. It was as though she knew something was going to be happening. She took the oral meds screaming, then when she thought it was over the doctor holds her down and gives her three shots!! I didn't cry but I just wanted to grab her and run out of there! She actually cried more today than she did when she had her tongue tie snipped. Amber, your ped was smart with the tylenol and I have made a mental note for the four month check up! Thank you for all your immute, I never want to go through it again but, as you said Rachel, it's a necessary evil!

My baby girl Sarah just went for her 2month check up today. the dr was very straight and clear with me and they just ask questions about development. and the shots were very quick and the oral vaccine was fine. she has been sleeping most of the day and she fussies here and there but has been eating on schedule and everything seems fine.

Hey Chrissy!



My little boy, Brayden, has his two month check up almost two weeks ago. It was very straight forward...yes Aleksandra is going to get some shots...but they do combine a lot of the immunizations to give her the fewest number of shots possible. Our ped. also provided us with some infant baby tylenol just in case he was in a little pain or uncomfortable from the shots. I know everyone says its always harder for you than it is for the baby...and its true. We just talked to him when he was getting his shots and held on to thim tightly when they were over. Don't be scared or nervous. I hear it gets worse as they get older bc they can squirm and move around more.

I have a little boy about to turn 2 and a daughter who is 2 1/2 months (born march 10). Her 2 month check up was a couple of weeks ago. She did fine. The shots are more traumatic to us. They scream and then calm down and then forget about it. She got one in each thigh and didn't even to be sensitive that night. I gave her a little bit of Tylonol about 1/2 hour before (per the doctor) just in case of fever... but my son has had all of his shots (most recent at 18 months) and has never had any reaction. Don't worry. It will be fine.

Hi there! Yes my little Rapha had his 2 months check up 2 weeks ago and I must say it was not nice. Don't know if the same thing will happen where you are, but what they did was give him an oral medication which he didn't seem to like very much (only thing he's ever tasted was milk!) and then gave him an injection in each leg. And that was hard! It's for his own good of course, but so hard to hold your baby down while someone hurts him! must say I cried! it was all over very quickly though. A mid-wife I spoke to afterwards said next time, but him on the breast while they give him the injection. Apparently it reduces the pain. They also measured and weighted him and wanted to know if he was smiling, and tracking.



Hope I haven't freaked you out! It's a necessary evil unfortunately.
