Hello, just wondering if your babies are crawling. Lilly is 8 months old and is not crawling yet. She does push herself backwards and can turn around no problem...I'm just curious to see if your babies are crawling and if you Moms have any suggestions as to what I can do to get her to crawl (little tricks)!!!

My daughter just went for her 9mo check up today, she still is not crawling, but she scoots on her bum, the Dr. said not to worry, that she possibly will just begin to walk a bit later than others but no big deal...

Glad im not the only one with the problem!! My son is going to be 9 months old tomorrow and STILL not crawling. I've been super concerned about this. He barely started sitting on his own unstable this month. But he has VERY strong leg muscle...and I mean VERY strong. I've never seen a baby with leg muscles as strong as his. He kicks EVERYTHING, and HARD. He has bruised me by kicking me while changing his diapers, and even broke his crib mobile off by kicking it so hard. If its infront of him, he will kick it. ANyone else have a kicker?
As for his crawling, he gets up on his hands and knees and just rocks back and forth. He's been doing this for nearly a month now. He also scoots back and forth and could easily get around the living room by scooting and rolling. I've attempted to 'teach' him to crawl, but he gives up and just flops down and scoots instead.

My daughter turned 8 mths yesterday, and only started crawling 3 days ago but yesterday she pulled herself up onto her knees then up onto her feet so she was standing so now she keeps doing it. She seems to not do anything new for a while then all of a sudden she starts doing a whole lot of new stuff!!!

my wee man turned 8 months 2 weeks ago and he's not crawling either he rolls everywhere and only sits up for short periods. i don't believe boys are slower than girls my oldest boy started crawling at 61/2 - 7 months, my daughter took more time and never crawled she bum shuffled. Each baby is different and learn things at their own pace.

My son turned months a week ago and is not crawling. He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth, but has yet to take off. He too can turn in a circle on his belly and can scoot backward. I think part of our problem is every time he gets in the crawling postition and gets a little frustrated, I pick him up right away. And I hold him a lot. Maybe he is not getting enough of an opportunity.

Hey, I have an 8 month old son and a 32 month old daughter. My son isn't crawling neither. He loves being on his tummy and kicks his legs, even turns around in a circle but doesn't seem to have the strength to lift himself up. My daughter was the same way, think she was around 9/10 months old by the time she did which was for about 4-6 weeks then she was walking. Our kids maybe one of the ones that skip the crawling phase! :-)
Oh we got our daughter to crawl for a shiny watch (and walk for it) It seems our son is interested in my phone, may give that a try ;-)

The normal range for crawling is 6-10 months. So she still has lots of time to crawl before you should worry. But to answer your question, I know a few people whose babies crawled to get to a cell phone! Anything she is not allowed to play with!

my 8 month old daughter does the army crawl thing its really quite cute she has just started getting up on her hands and knees but falls. From what I was told its perfectly normal and they should be speeding around the house in no time at all lol

My son is 8m old and crawling - and do you know what made him move finally? He loves my phone and the TV remote control, because they have blue light ;) - I put the remote control 15 cms from him, and he took the effort to get there :D First it took half an hour to make it, but since that he's mastered it

My Lilly is 8 months and is not crawling she can go backwards fine but forward we have trouble. She just rocks on her Knees but never goes forward. Dr said that this was fine not to worry just means that she was a thinking and we will have less bumps along the way. He told me that babys that jump in and do it early are not as stable as babys that do it later!

Hi...my daughter is eight and a half months and started crawling backward at about 6n a half months. She then figured out how to crawl forward at just over 7 months and has now learnt to pull herself up to a standing position. All kids are different tho cos my nephew never crawled at all and started walking at 9 months. And my neighbours baby is now 7 n a half months and has only now started turning over. I think the best u can do is give ur daughter lots of tummy time and let her decide whether she wants to crawl around or just pick herself up when she is ready to do so.

my daughter is crawling but going backwards and turning around seemed to suddenly turn into crawling with nicole so you shouldnt be long hang in there and dont worry too much all babies are different

My daughter is almost walking now, but I don't think she is the norm. My son did not crawl until around 9 or 10 months, and was not fully walking until 14 months. My mom swears that boys are just slower usually. With my son, he was much bigger than my daughter is too so that might be a factor. I would not worry until he gets past 10 or 11 months, and then maybe as a precaution get a Child Development Evaluation which is usually free through community resources. You can contact a head start or something of that nature and they should know where to get that.

My 8 month is not crawling either. He is and wants to all the time walk with my assistance. Have you tried that yet? Putting her on her feet and holding her hands to see if she takes steps. My husband tried it I didn't even think about it since he isn't crawling yet, but wala, steps came really natural to him. We just found out that my husband didn't crawl went straight to walking. Talk to your fam see what fam history there is. Since she is push herself backwards and can turn around no problem I wouldn't worry. My son is 23 lbs and 31 inches. He is a big dude, I wonder if bigger babies have more muscle to strengthen to haul around the extra weight?

My son, Skyler, is nearly eight months old and he does not crawl yet either. That is perfectly fine, you shouldn't worry. If your baby is going backwards and is turning around then they are developing at a perfectly normal pace. My son does the same thing, he's also kinda going on his knees and bounces up and down.. But that's it.

Some kids don't crawl forward at all and just start walking (probably between nine and twelve months).

My son is just barely 8 months old. He is not crawling. He is rolling and scooting and trying to crawl, but not officially crawling. I think it is perfectly normal for them to not be crawling. Remember they all do things at different stages. Tricks I have heard are putting things away from them they want or getting the rolling toys to encourage them to move.
