Well i had my 2nd baby (3 weeks ago lol) ... she is beautiful just like her sister :) ... i was induced on 17th april, and consultant said if i wasnt dilated by the next morning then i'd have to have another c-section first thing in the morning, so i had to starve myself from midnight... morning came, no diation, but the night staff told me to eat because there was no way i was having a section until the afternoon!!! so i ate, then the consultant tells me if i hadnt eaten anything then she could have had me in surgery there and then!! grrr... so thanks to the stupid night staff i had to wait ANOTHER day!!! so the morning of the 19th came, and at 10.30am i was taken to theatre, had my spinal epidural and me and my fiance waited for the gorgeous sound of our second daughter being born! :) ... i was so scared after our traumatic experience with our first daughter... but everything went well and Corin was born 8lbs 8oz @ 11.21am :-D ... i was told later that after all my contractions for the past two days, i hadnt dilated because my baby's head was wedged in my pelvis therefore wasnt pushing down onto my cervix :( so she had to be pulled out with forceps!! at least she's here now safe and sound :) xx

i went in at 8 days late to be induced, neither cervics ripening drug worked. after 25 hours i caved and got an epidural (without pain killers only numbing stuff) and they started pitocin. 13 hours later (3hr 50min of pushing) my daughter was born. i was 10 minutes from forced c-section. had the most horrible nurse telling me i didn't have to do this, she'll tell doctor i want a c-section, i don't need to be in this much pain etc. i also had the most horrible morning sickness that lasted all thru the labor and delivery too.

what helped me was sitting on an exercise ball or laying on tennis balls at certain pressure point on my back. i tried to walk, but they didn't want me walking the halls of the hospital naked. before then i would walk about 3 miles every day. stairs whenever possible. anything to keep my mind off being so uncomfortabl

I had problems with dilation too. Didn't have to have a c-section though. Hoping you have a VBAC to!

Yeh ive got a 3 year old girl too, she's SO active it's hard to keep up haha, im on my feet all day and go out often to do the shopping for the house and stuff. Im being induced on tuesday if i dont go into labour, but if i havnt dilated by the next morning iv got to have another c-section :-( (had emergancy section last time because my litte girl's heart stopped, bad reaction to the drugs given to speed up then slow down labour) really hoping for a VBAC this time!!

Oh yes. I walked and walked with my girls. That was the only thing that helped. Do exercises. If you have another child take them outside and play with them. Do A LOT of activities.
