Hi Anna - yep my LO (now 2) is still on the breast!! He feeds just mornings, afternoons and b4 bed. I dont know if i'll ever get a six-pack tho!!! I never lost the extra fat through bf'ing - i always replaced what he drank with food... BUT the good news is that its just a few simple principles (e.g. spacing out the meals, so you eat 6 small meals a day, every 2-3 hours; eating protein with every meal - that's tough cos I'm veg! - and drinking loooaads of water) As for the exercises it's just 15 minutes a day, which i do early in the morning b4 my kids get up. It can be done!! :)

In fact just a few months ago I joined this site www.fym.com (stands for fityummymummy) and my god the woman who started it is a goddess and such an inspiration!! It's all about a lifestyle change - I realised i was eating the wrong kind of food and doing the wrong kind of exercise ... this stuff works!!!! I am back into my pre-pregnancy jeans after just 5 weeks!!! and i feel great, full of energy - my friends all want to know how it happened and i just tell them I'm a fit yummy mummy now!!! Go check it out!

I have the same problem, but the trainer at our gym suggested Yoga or Pilates becuase the focus on strengthening the core, and long, lean muscle not bulk. Its a good break up to aerobics.

I have the same problem, especially as my daughter was a bit big for my short body and there was lots of pushing involved to get her out so my stomach muscles seperated very severely during childbirth. I have found pilates is really good as it increases the muscle strength and helps to start flattening things out again. Also you can get beginner DVDs off the internet so you can do it even if you have no muscle strength to start with.

Oh my, I still don't fit in most of my regular pants. I breastfeed, eat lots of fruits and veggies, and I try to get some time to exercise. I feel miserable and am NOT looking forward to summer. I'd rather hide under big baggy sweaters all year.

My little boy is one and I too am struggling to lose my baby tummy/weight.. Tho its is coming off slowly with exercise and healthy eating! You do need to be careful with the ab work you do...anything that activates the outer muscles is no good....you need to use your core muscles which will act like a girdle and hold everything in. Dont give up...it takes time and alot of hard work but can be done! I have lost 4kg and 3% bodyfat so far.

My baby just turned 1 the other day and I too have the same problem every now and then. I noticed that if I seriously exercise for even just a day and really sweat then the next day I feel and looked slimmer. I am trying to watch my diet, eating small portions and drinking shakes from GNC and I think it works. I can wear some of my summer clothes but if I eat big portions my tummy look like im preggy again. I have hula hoop, dancing with the stars video for my exercise, dance revolution, and tried anything that I can think will make me burn calories. Just hang in there. A sales lady in Dillards who have 3 kids once told me that she was able to take off her baby weight for 4 years. She doesn't look like she has kids coz she doesn't have any baby fat at all. Exercise is the best thing to do but crunching hurt my back and neck so what I did sometimes if I can remember is to pull my navel to my spinal cord coz I heard that from somebody that it helps too. I also tried to exercise while watching TV by pulling my knee to my tummy. I think exercise is really the key.

Workout, yes! But, I look fine until I eat something bad, like pizza or pasta. Then I look bloated. So, diets important too. Try to eat a lot of salad. Eat more fruit and vegetables! I work out about 4 days a week. They have a daycare at my gym so I do, weights, stairmaster, aerobics, whatever for an hr. usually. : ) It's a battle! Did you try the plank, that pilates move to tone your abs? I try a lot of different ab exercises.

I fit into my pants at 2 weeks postpartum down to size 8, and i ate more than i ever had. It helped that i was breastfeeding. Exercising helps, i didnt start until i was 8 months postpart. My baby is a year now and im down to size 4 and better than i ever looked! Stretch marks are a little visible if you look for them but ill be able to wear a bikini without anyone seeing them, and i have no baby flab. My mom was the same way but she also exercised, so just workout and you'll be fine.

Wow - the liquid bra sounds good. What about the ab exercises? I heard that some exercises have the reverse effect ...??! Anyone know any good ones?

wow.... well i cant really tell you how that feels. i was able to wear normal jeans for most of my pregnancy and i left the hospital looking like i never had a child, but than again i exercised a lot during my pregnancy (even ran crosscountry) but if you do some calastinics (sp?) and do some ab workouts.
