I am just wondering how babies my sons age are weighing and behaving...My son Alex was born on the 8th and he weighs close to 20 pounds and is 25 inches long. I am nursing and the doctor says he is healthy-obviously, lol, but everyone thinks he is like 9 months old--which he is also wearing 6-9 months in clothes... Some times I feel like they miscalculated my due date...he's also trying to crawl, rolling over, "talking" through screeches, and only wanting to stand or sit up-which he tries to do alone--most of these are perfectly normal for babies his age, but he is so big, or am i just freaking out because my baby is not a little baby more?

My son at about 4 1/2 months was 20 lbs 7 oz. and 26 1/2 inches. He has been wearing a size 4 diaper for a while and wears 12 months - 18 month clothes for some time. So, I understand about them thinking they are older than they are. At birth my son was tiny only 6lbs. 14 oz. and 19 inches long. How big was your son at birth?

My son was born 9lbs. He is five months old and weighed in at 16 lbs at his 4 month checkup. I'm sure he's pushing 18 by now. He is a big boy..rolls on top of rolls. I think he's adorable and the doctor says he is fine. I just hate people who only comment on how big he is and when people criticize how much he eats or how often. Mothers knows best. It's not like I force feed him, I feed him when he's hungry. I heard the weight comes off a lot once they start walking.

That's soo true Jessica! everyone always comments that im feeding him too much to! but he's been eating very consistant. I even kept him of cereal for an extra month and he still gained 2 pounds that month! So as long as their healthy and growing, no worries :)

My daughter was born on March6th and is doing the same thing. When she went to the doctor @ 4 months she weighed 19lbs and everytime we go I ask the doctor is she gaining too much weight and she says no she's healty. Everyone is always like you feed her to much and ask how old is she, she looks like shes 7 or 8 months. I know it gets old and starts getting to you. Dont worry about it because as soon as they start crawling and walking alot of that baby fat will go away!!!

that's no big deal. My sister had a 9lb baby, she's a year old now but everyone thinks she's almost 2 because she's so tall and how much she weighs. She's just a big baby.

Sounds like my Ana. She weighed in at 20 lbs. plus at her 4 month and measured the same as your son. Lately people have been guessing her age around 6 or 9 months. She wears anything from 9 month clothing up, depending on the style. We just have healthy, strong babies. :)

He's a big boy, but that's perfectly normal for him. You can watch his growth on the charts if you'd like: http://www.babycenter.com/baby-child-gro...

My boy is 5 months and weighs 15lbs 11oz and is 27 inches long. So he's tall and little. But he is still doing all the things you stated. They were pretty sure I was overdue with him after he was born because he was pretty big (8lbs 5oz, 22") and he wasn't covered in vernix. But that still wouldn't change his birthday or anything.

My sister and I were very big babies but are both short and skinny now haha.

My baby is big too. He is 4 months old and is 17 pounds 25 inches. Wears 6-9 cloths. That is normal in babies that are breastfed. My son was born small and got huge with the breast milk.

I don't think u are freaking out at ALL! My son was born on March 31st & is weighing 18pds at just 4 months. Everyone thinks he is older to, he is in 6-12 months clothes. He rolls over constintely & is attempting to crawl also. He is always trying to sit up on his own to! I think all babies are different & maybe ours is just growing a littel quicker then most. They get big so quick, its sad!! The worst it packing away all his clothes he grew out of already, & there are TONS!

Don't worry, my son( who was born March 31st) only weighed 6lbs 8 oz at birth, 20 inches. now he is 27 long, and wears 9-12 month clothing..I get the same reaction from people, do not worry, my son also is constatly babbling, and tries to crawl.I think we just miss the "little" babies they used to be. Size does not matter if the doctor gives the"OK" just love him, and hug him while u can..they grow super fast!!!! As you are experiencing now...

I wouldn't worry. I boy is almost five months (one week shy) he went to the Dr. last friday for his 4 month check up and he weighs 19lbs 4 oz and is almost 29 inches long. Dr. said he is a healthy, strong boy and is advanced in alot of areas. He has been rolling over since he was a month old and he loves to talk and tell us loooong stories. Nathan also likes to stand has for the last month or so. I don't think you have anything to worry about, just enjoy your baby!

My son was born march 6th weighing 7 pounds 8 ounces. He is 4 months old and he weighs almost 20 pounds. He's in size 6 diapers and in some 6-9 month cloths and some 9-12 month clothes depending on brand. He's got rolls beyond rolls and he's got the little baby boobies kicking. The doc says he's healthy and solid. He packed on the pounds because he was on Soy milk. We recently switched him because he isn't lactose anymore. He rolls over from belly to back. he can sit by himself without having to help him, he babbles, laughs, he sometimes holds his bottle on his own, andh he pushes up on his legs looks like he's trying to crawl.

My son Caleb was born on the 3rd. I also strictly breastfeed. At his 4 month appointment he was 18 pounds and 25 inches long. He's in 6-9 month clothes and has been in size 3 diaper for about 2 months now! Some babies are just bigger than others :) He also sits himself up from reclined position and loves to stand... Watch out you may have an early walker on your hands!

Well how big was he when he was born? My little guy was 6 pounds and born on the 7th. He is now 12 pounds as of last friday at his four month check up. He is healthy and as long as he is active and the doctor is not concerned, that is great!

My daughter was born March 10th (9 days early) at just a little over 7lbs. She is completely breastfed and at her 4month check up was 24in long and nearly 16lbs. She is also in 6-9 month clothing. She is rolling all across the floor, trying to crawl, and talks in her own language. I think she tries to sing sometimes too! lol. Chubby babies are so cute!

It just means he's going to be a big boy when he's older. my son Marcus was born on the 16th march and he is already fitting into 12month clothes he is very long, he prefures to be standing or sitting up, he also is trying to crawl, and he is already talking he can say dadda, all babies are different, my older son who is almost 2yrs was only little and was in 12month clothes when he was 12months, so every baby is different just treasure every minute as they don't stay little for very long.

I have a big boy too. My son was born on March 27th and was a little over 7lbs. Now he weighs 17 lbs. and is 26 inches long. Everyone thought he was a 6 month old when he was only 2 months. It just bothers me when people say, "He is so big," instead of telling me how cute he is :).

i know how u feel. My son was born march 19th. At two months he weighted 13lbs 5 oz and was 24 1/2 inches long. I estimate him at least 17 lbs now...he gets weighed in a few weeks. He was rolling over at one month...holding head up at at a wk or so....standing up holding my hands at one month. He is working on crawling right now. He hardly wore 0-3 months and has been in 6-9 since he was 2 months old. I dont feel like i had an infant at all!!!! No one believes how young he is. So dont worry i know how u feel. But this is good....our babies are more advanced then some others. Pretty soon we will be wondering where these teenagers came from :)

My son was born almost nine pounds. He is now 3 months and 1 week old weighing 17 pounds. He wears clothing for 12mths and sometimes 18mths. Baby clothing and sizes vary from department store to department store. He already started teething. People think he's 6-9 mths old!!

My boy was born March 7th. He was last weighed 2 weeks ago and was 17lb. He is in 6-9 months clothes and is about 27 inches long (69cm). Zach rolls, makes babbling noises and has started practicing like he wants to crawl.

My daughter was born March 20. I am also breastfeeding and she already wieghs 17lbs. It is nothing to worry about, like the doctor said. Would you rather have a healthy, chubby baby or a little underwieght baby? Personally I think chubby babies are cute!

My lil boy Gavin is another big boy. He was born on the 27th of March at just over 7lbs.. but is now JUST over 3 months and weighs in at 17lbs and is 24" long. The past two months he's put on 3.5 - 4lbs EACH month and I was also worried about excessive weight gain. I realize they say you can't overfeed a breastfed baby but if he keeps gaining weight this steadily then he'll be in the next size up car seat at 4 months

My son Robin was born on March 30th and weighed 11lb 10oz at birth! So I know how you feel, he will soon be in 6 month clothes and everyone thinks he is older than he is. My first son was big too but he evened out in the end and now is same size as all his friends. As long as he seems happy then don't worry and just let him progress at his own pace.

people think the same thing about my girl-that she is older than she is by size and looks-so don't worry it's normal, just each baby is different (she is also in 9mth clothing)
