I have a 16 month old and a 2 month old...The 2 month old is pretty demanding when he needs things, but I feel so bad for my toddler when I have to put him down to tend to his brother. So, when I do get some quality time with him, I want to do things that are really fun for him and make him feel special. Any suggestions?

We read together, a lot! My daughter loves books and loves to climb into my lap to read. We got her a play tent and tunnel a month or two ago, which she loves - and I can get with her into the tent for special time, which is fun. (It also folds down to take up no space at all when not in use, which is lovely!) We pet our dog, or brush her together; we have 2 cats and a dog, and this is a nice way for the pets to realize that baby gives something back to them, not just stealing their time with mom and dad. We color, or finger paint. And when it isn't obscenely hot, we'll have a lot more we can do together outside... in nicer weather we go for a lot of walks, where we talk about what we're seeing, maybe collect leaves or rocks, that kind of thing. She loves the playground, but it's been too hot for most of the summer.

I'm a working mom with a long commute, so my time with my little girl is pretty condensed. We pack in a lot in our time together. During the day while I'm at work, she's with her daddy (my husband is the stay-at-home in our family) and takes her naps, goes to gym classes, runs errands, etc. She gets her Sesame Street fixes when I'm not home, usually (though sometimes on the weekend too), but they're as interactive as possible. As she's gotten older, she's getting better about playing on her own, but she tends to want a lot of interaction. We'll have to see what happens when Baby #2 comes along, eventually.

Sounds like your heart's in just the right place for your toddler - but it must be hard with your hands so full! Good luck!

We look at books, color, sing songs. We go for walks and to the park. If it's hot (whish it hasn't been here) we go swimming or play with water in the backyard. My LO loves going to the library.
