I'm so excited about my little girls 1st birthday this Saturday. Congratulations mommies on making it throughout the first year! What are you doing for your childs bday? I want it to be memorable for her, but my husband thinks it shouldn't be a big deal and we really shouldn't spend any money on her party. What do you think? I want to do a Pooh party. We're only having a handful of family over.

My little girl will be one on March 30th. My husband also does not think we should have a party but I have 4 other children and they like to look at their 1st bday pictures and are really excited to help us celebrate this big milstone. We are going to have a lady bug party.

...and we went pretty casual. It was just an afternoon tea where everyone brought a plate. It doesn't have to cost heaps, it really depends on what you do :)

My son Theo just turned 1 and we had a party for him last weekend. I'm really glad I did it and in the end I even made a cake and decorated it. I know he won't remember it but my sister pointed out that it's really nice for them to be able to look back at photos and know that you celebrated their birthday even though they don't remember. My nieces love looking through their photo albums at themselves when they were little and mummy and daddy and other relatives looking younger/different etc. Also, we invited friends and family and all our antenatal friends to our party and actually it was really fun, so I'd recommend it just from that perspective. Theo didn't really know it was anything special just for him, but I think he enjoyed it, and I know he enjoyed eating chocolate buttons off his cake while I wasn't looking! :)

My baby girl was 1 on saturday! We didnt do much for her, we went to our holiday house with my fiance's parents (my parents couldnt make it because the were babysitting my niece and nephew) we made a cake and gave her the presents (that my oldest loved more then bub did) and that was it. Im glad i didnt make a big deal for it because she was more interested in eating the sand on the beach then eating her cake. To her it was just another day.
