How can I get my 1 year old to stop sucking his thumb??

I have tried a ton of things, his poor thumb is so raw and so sore....I don't know what to do. Please help

Try a band aid- but keep watching it to make sure he doesn't swallow it.

my little boy had a raw thumb and it hurt so much he cut it that he just didn't want to suck it anymore, then i put a band aid and the more he didn't want to suck it, now he doesn't at all, almost like he forgot about it! He is 13 months by the way- and all of this happened around 10 months.... good luck!
