Here are a few projects we have tried when we can't get outside and such...fill a dishpan with water and lay out a big towel; I let my son sit by the pan and play in the water...he LOVES it. Also, I sit him in his high chair and put some soap bubbles on the tray and let him play with them until they disappear. My son also loves music, so I fill an empty carton with dry pasta and seal it. He shakes it to make music. I let him bang on plastic bowls with a spoon too. Hope this helps!

I put toys and trinkets in boxes and containers and leave them around the house for him to discover and try to open. I will sometimes see him trying to open something up, you know, really studying something to figure it out. It's mentally stimulating for him.

I have two upstairs neighbors we go visit. One is a married couple who have raised their kids and love some baby time, and our other neighbor has a daughter just a few months older, the kids pretty much entertain each other. Also try baby nintendo (I dont think that's the name of it but it plugs into the tv and has a very simple controller) it plays games that teach colors, shapes, numbers etc...only problem is it takes C batteries, which I've never needed for anything...

My son is extremely active..And he gets bored of his toys extremely fast...so during the day, he watches cbeebies...he loves to play with puzzle pieces and he keeps himself busy the whole day...he loves to just walk around the whole day...he prefers to play with everything else but his toys..he finds everything else fascinating...lol

My daughter LOVES to be outside in the grass. When she has a lot of energy, I just take her outside with a frisbee and a few balls and she'll run around the yard. She loves to pull at the grass and it keeps her busy for a long time. She always ends up screaming when I take her inside because she loves it. She also loves to go for walks or even just for a walk around a mall to get her out of the house (and to see all the people!) She loves to "help" make dinner, I'll put her in her high chair and she'll watch and play with measuring cups or something. Long baths are good too.
