My first daughter I went into labor on Jan.27th, 08 at home around 6 and she was born around 7 with no pain meds or nothing. My second daughter was induced on March 24th,2009 and was born within an hour, and my third child, my son I went in to labor on the 12th of Feb 2010 and had him on Feb 13th, around 4. I had an epidural with my second child and it was great, had it with my third child and it didn't work. It was horrible. He was born at 30 weeks gestation and was in the RICN for 2 weeks.

i went to bed at 1.15am on 28th march 09 and my waters broke and my contractions started coming thick and fast. at 3.30 i was in the hospital but was only 3cm dilated so they wanted to send me home but i asked for the pethadin injection which was given to me at 6.30 am. as soon as the nurse took the needle out i had to push and my daughter was born 7.23 am on28th march weighing 5lb 5oz so the pethadin didn't take affect untill i was pushing and it just made me sleepy. definatly going drug free on my next one. didn't hurt a bit!

my first labour started at 7 in the morning on the monday, when my contractions woke me up, he wasn't out till 2:02am on the tuesday morning the next day, my second was a bit different, my waters started leaking at midnight on the saturday, and the admitted me to hospital ,and on the monday started the inducement, after the last lot of gel it only took 2 hour for my contractions to start, after that he was out in 2 hours... the first was worse for me, i had complications due to the length i was in labour for and ended with a vacumn delivery resulting in a 4th degree tear an operation, 10 hour coma and a split disc in my lower back. But i would do it all again to have my boys, u were very lucky to have 2 quick labours

9 1/2 hours. I'd been having Braxton Hicks contractions for quite a while. I was supposed to be induced on Monday at 6am......went into labor around 3pm on Sunday afternoon, after a nice walk and a nap, and had him at 12:27 Monday morning. I had an amazing labor and delivery! I had IV pain meds but they didn't even work, because I was already in transition. It was hard work but not frightening and I'd go through it again in a heartbeat!

My first was 4 hours from start (having my waters broken and drip started) to finish (birth), she was induced a week early due to IUGR with only the gas to help and she was 5 pound 2. My second came naturally, my waters broke 14 days before she was due at 5pm, took me an hour to tell hubby what was going on, went straight to hospital (was high risk because of first bubs size) wasnt allowed to go home, had my first REAL contraction at 8.30pm (had been having slight niggles for a few hours but nothing that bothered me) and she was born at 1.21am 13 days early. No pain relief at all, So it was 8 hours from the time my waters broke but only 5 hours from my first contraction to delivery and she was 7 pound 6

My water broke around 7am on a Saturday and I didn't have my son until 5pm on Sunday. I was in labour from Saturday morningill about 3pm Sunday and was only dialated 5 cm when they decided they had to do an Emergency C-Section. Turned out the cord was wrapped around my son's neck 2 times. I had an awesome doctor, who took care of my son very well and knew by looking at me that there was something wrong! So in total it was about 34 hours. LOL

With my twins I had irregular contractions from every 45 seconds to every 15 minutes for 8 days, they couldn't stop it for anything! (30 weeks pregnant) I was on bed rest the whole time, and had one twin transverse (laying down on my spine) and the other was a footling breech but with one foot through my cervix (dilated 6 cm) in the birth canal. After my blood pressure got dangerous, I had an emergency c-section.

my first was exactly 3 hours and 45 minutes. She was on her due date. I had preeclampsia for my son, and they wanted to induce me. I went in for my scheduled appointment and they decided to keep me. They decided to break my water around 6:15. I didn't end up feeling any of the contractions until around 8:30. and he was born at 10:09. I hear that labor gets shorter after every child. I hope it's true if I decide to have another one!

hey,

I think I beat everyone!!! My labor was 96 hours (a full five days), and it took 5 hours of pushing at the end to get him out. The cord was wrapped around his neck and torso, so everytime he started to move down the cord would pull him back up! Totally worth it though!!!! I love my little man :)

76 HOURS FROM START TO FINISH!!!!! Went into labour on 26th and had her on 29th.

Didnt have epidural, just had gas and pethidine. Born with an Apgar of 4 wasnt breathing and was floppy, so scary! She was pushing on my cervix the whole time so they couldnt tell that she had done meconium in me because she was blocking it, so they couldnt see she was in distress... He heart rate stayed strong the whole time so they couldnt pick it up. She was 8lb 5oz.

We went to intensive care and we were out within a few hours so we were very lucky i had an amazing midwife!!!! :)

She is now a healthy strong little girl!!!

i was induced at 7:00am. i was contracting for about 14 hours. Doc finally popped my water at like noonish that day. i dilated to 2 cm (i was dilated 1 cm in january) he gave up and said sorry but im going to have to do a C section. she was born at 9:15 that night and was 8lbs 10oz. I am 4'11 and he didnt think my body would have let me do it vaginally. My hemaglobin went from 12.9 down to 5.6, i had 2 blood transfusions and i had VERY high blood pressure afterwards. about 260/190s staid an extra 3 days in the hospital and im still not feeling right today, almost a year later, im trying my hardest to get back into shape for my daughter but its very hard. I cried happily when i got to see my little girl that night!!!!

I had my first baby on 18th March 2009...2 hours of established labour. I had her at home and by the time the midwife arrived I was already 10cm dilated! Within 30mins of her arrival little Rose was born. The relief of having her at home was overwhelming and I'd do it all again in a second! x

I am 25 and I just had my fist child March 2nd 2009. I had a son. His name is Brandyn Alan. He turned 10 months old Jan. 2nd. He is growing so big! He can wave, say momma and dada, fake sneeze, clap, crawl, pull up on his own, open drawers, play by himself for 30 minutes, sleeps from 9 pm to 10 am, has 4 teeth (two top and two bottom), is trying to walk, can say hi, and bye bye, he is growing up before my eyes!

Hello everyone, I have three children and all were very different. My first broke my water at home around 7 am, had a bad headache that did not want to go away (had it for about two days and cramp feeling on my right side) but did not have her until the next evening, went down to L&D when supper was being served at the hospital 5:30pm. From active labour which started once down stairs ( contractions were pressure only, like someone was standing on my pubic bone area, no cramping) to delivery was only about 1 to 1.5 hours...had epidural (jsut the first part to get you set up ONLY) to take care of the nausea, which worked but felt everything for the delivery. Was born March 21, 2004 1 month before due date and weight 6lbs. Second child was born 3 days before due date. Baby broke my water again at home in the late afternoon, went in and they sent me home b/c not in active labour, was to be induced if nothing changed by 8 am next morning. Well I didn't make it till 8am, labour got intense and this time felt the cramping around 5 am. Left the house by 6 am and was contracting about every 3 min., got to the hospital was admitted and the baby was born July 18, 2007 just after 7 am weight was 8lbs 5oz. Things went very quick and had no time for anything to take th edge off. Again active labour beign about 1 hour or a bit less. Third child was overdue by 3 days. Went in for my check up and had the doctor perform a sweep, which seperates the membranes and hopefully brings on labour. This was around 11:30 am, felt a bit off went out for lunch, got home took a nap for about an hour or 2 and felt better when I got up. Was getting my kids dinner when my husband came home and just got into the kitchen and said hello, when my water broke. I looked at him and he was not sure what was happening, he had not even taken off his coat or shoes yet. I told him my water broke, he sat down to eat quickly while we waited for my mom to come and watch the kids, I also had a bite to eat then went to the hopital around 6:30 pm. Was induced b/c tested positive for bacteria and my child was born naturally by choice the next morning at 1:49 am March 26, 2009. This birth was harder to take as I was not sure what an induced labour would be like. In my case very different and more intense then letting the body do things naturally on it's own schedule. Know I am done.

I was induced at 9pm, early labour started about 9:30pm I went into the hospital at 7am was 3 centimeters, they broke my water...she was born at 6:59pm. I was in active labour for about 6 hours of that, but it was all good when I saw my 6 lb 9 oz bundle ;)

My first baby girl was 26 hours and 8 of that was with an epidural but in the end I had to have a c-section so my other 2 were repeat c-sections. My second baby girl I didn't even know I was in labor all day by the evening I was having some pain but not bad so I went to the hospital and they checked I was at a 1 and within 30 minutes I dialated to a 3 so she was the speedy one. My third child is a boy and I went into premature labor twice and they thought they had stopped the contractions each time but not completely, every time I got home I would have like one or two an hour so the dr., my husband and I decided to do an amnioscentesis to see if his lungs were developed enough, they weren't what the dr. wanted but I had been having too many contractions while in labor and delivery the night before after the amnio so she decided to deliver. I would say I had contractions regularly for about 2 weeks and they would get pretty strong sometimes.

I was induced at 11:30am, was already 4 cm dialated (and had no contractions) when we got to the hospital for the planned induction. My first twin was born at 5:17pm and the second was born at 5:29. Patocin works!! It was very intense and pretty rough until I got the epidural, but after that it was less than an hour until they were born. I think 6 hours for twins born vaginally is pretty good!

my labor started around 5am on monday (when I realized it), got really intense and painful around 4:30pm, didn't have her until 3:19 tuesday morning. That's about 22 1/2 hours of labor. I keep joking that she was inside putting her arms out straight saying "no, don't make me go, i don't wanna go!" and bracing herself, that's why it took so long. Gotta have a sense of humor about it.
