We have finally weaned off the bottle. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. At one year she was still having one bed time bottle. I just substituted it for a sippy cup with formulla right before bed and it worked! I am still amazed it was so easy.

none. He nurses 3-4 times a day (none at night) and get a sippy of water all throughout the day.

I'm told that ideally they should be off the bottle by now (or no later than 15ish months) so you don't mess up their teeth. (breastfeeding does not have this problem though.)

Emma- I would try offering her different kinds of milk. My daughter refused everything but 2%. I would just try giving her different kinds or sometimes I mix a little bit of chocolate milk with white milk. I limit my daughters milk because she drinks 2% but I also give her juice(watered down) and leave her a cup with water for her to drink randomly. I like to make sure she is hydrated because she doesn't drink formula anymore

I don''t give Natalia formula anymore and I also don't give her a bottle anymore. I introduce a sippy cup really early, like 5-6 month's and she started to refuse the bottle. The night bottle was to hardest to get rid of because she always fell asleep on the bottle. It was a little hard to get her to fall asleep without it but she goes to sleep on her own now and we said bye-bye baba! She has cows milk, 3 cups a day 1 with breakfast lunch and dinner, a cup of water at all times and water down juice every now and then. I hope this helps, good luck!

My son turned 1 a few weeks ago and he gets 1 bottle before bedtime. Everything else he drinks come from a sippy cup, mostly milk but some juice. We are working on weaning him from the bedtime bottle but it is not going to be so easy.

none. she gets 4oz cows milk in oatmeal like cereal for breakfast, 4oz sippy cup of cows milk at lunch and dinner, 1-2oz cheese and/or 4oz yobaby yogurt. 10oz sippy of diluted juice at breakfast. unlimited sippy of water though out day. no bottle, no formula, no boob-juice. took about a month to switch from formula to cows milk, the last week of that to go from bottle at naps and bed to none.

Just one, at bedtime; all other milk is from sippy cups. In total she drinks maybe 16-20 oz milk in a day and the rest is apple or white grape juice diluted with lots of water, or just straight water. Only other time we'll give her a bottle is if we're out and about; our sippy cups don't have covers and tend to drip, so we'll either pour from a bottle into an empty sippy cup or just give juice+water from a bottle while away from home.

i cut the bottle at 1 and used sippy cups and it is amazingly easy but that's only at bedtime and a nap she gets formula other than that we give her a lot of gerber juices whenever she's thirsty and some water to balance..

Hi Emma,

My DD has 4 to 5 six ounce bottles in a 24 hour period. Our pedi says that if she is getting about 20 oz in a 24 hour period then that is great.
