hmmm, is he teething?? Maybe try some orajel and a nice cool washcloth to chew on?? Or even some tylenol and see if that helps. He could also be overtired which makes it SO much harder to get them to sleep. When my daughter gets like that, I usually feed her then put her on my bed and lay with her untill she falls asleep. It usually works. Try putting him down for a nap about 2 1/2 hrs after he wakes up in the morning. I read that thats when they should have their first nap at this age. I starting putting my daughter down for a nap around 10-10:30 and she has gotten alot less cranky since then. Hope this helps!

I agree with all of the other girls here, probably teething or tummy troubles. More importantly, GET YOURSELF OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!!! Find someone you trust to take baby for a couple of hours and get a coffee with your best girlfriend!!!! If you can't do that try going for a walk with the baby in a carrier. These things go in phases, he won't cry forever. You need to take care of yourself, if you give yourself a break now and then you will feel refreshed and ready to take on the screaming baby!!!! The best way to be a good mommy is to take help where you can and don't wear yourself thin!! That doesn't do anybody any favours!!!! Good luck!

Something is definately hurting him--babies that age don't just cry on hours for no reason--especially if it is not normal for them. Since he's crying even when u r holding him I assume it has nothing to do with seperation anxiety or something.

Check what is causing him pain:

-Tummy (diet or otherwise)

-Teeth

-Other pain (look for any kind of injury on his body or if he is favoring an arm or something)

Try a new diet (go really really basic for a few days), evaluate his bowel movements, urination, etc. Examine his mouth, and his entire body.

If all this doesn't work I would try a new pediatrician.

My son will be 7 mths on the 12th. Alot of the time when I leave the room he'll start to cry. Usually he'll stop when I come back in. It drives his dad nuts. I rock him back and forth or sing to him. sometimes if he goes outside he'll stop crying. He loves being outside. I hope that helps.

i say something i rong a baby this age shouldn't cry like that unless he is sick . he is too old for colic especially if he didn't have colic when he was a small baby . maybe it is teeth or his stomach but don't let the pcp tell you it's nothing .

Hello there,

I completely understand how u feel. I think every mum feels this way at some point!

Your baby is 7mths old, so he must be teething, hence him constantly crying. You might want to try some gel or homeopathic remedy to sooth his gum. The other thing you can also try is put some music and try dance or sing with him. This will make you and your baby feel better. You can also go out for walks in a park or in shopping malls. Sometimes babies like different environment. My baby is 6 months old and he quite enjoy when we go out.

I dont believe in the method of CIO (cry it out). It has never worked for me! I think the best is as soon as your baby cries, pick him up, talk to him and do the (things suggested above) It usually works for me.

Don't feel bad. We are all in the same situation. i also feel that Im gonna lose my mind sometimes. But be positive and go out and do something different. It will help both you and your baby.

Good Luck

Has he been teething or got any teeth yet? My daughter is nearly 7 months and for thelast few nights has been unsettled and I think this is because she is starting to get her two bottom teeth, I have been using some teething gel to help her.

I would definately consider his diet. Also Infants Mylicon works amazing for gas, and Hylands Teething Tablets help with teething. The tablets are all natural, they seem to have a relaxing effect on my daughter.

if you are breastfeeding, I would look at your diet. My baby is lactose intolerant... which makes him scream for hours. if you cut dairy out (you can keep yogurt in) it will take about 7 days to notice a real difference. Otherwise, have you been eating anything different? Wheat, eggs, etc? or is it possible your little one is teething?
