Ideas for 1st birthday party

[deleted account] ( 7 moms have responded )

My daughter will be one year in about a month and I am trying to get ideas on what to do for her party. There are lots of babies her age but she also has older siblings (12 and 15) and cousins 10months, 2 and 11that may want to be included but not necessary. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

HI.. My Daughter 's 1st birthday is on the 27th Marcha nd we have decided to do a family only (cos theres lots of us) tea party with cupcakes and sandwiches. We are going to decorate our flat with lots of balloons and fresh flowers. It wil be simple and short.. just a couple of hours as we dont want her to be overwhelmed.
Hope this helps and good luck :-)

My son was born on the 31st of March and we are going to do his party that Friday before Easter. We are going to keep it simple and have some friends and family over and their children. We are going to decorate Easter eggs and do some easter themed games. That is as far as I've planned so far :-)

Hi Vanessa

My baby girl is 1year on the 17th of March, because they wont remember anything, i dont want to do to much or to little, and because its so close to easter I am doing a bunny party! Pink and white, and only inviting 4baby's and close family and friends. not to many people. Going to dress her up in pienk with bunny ears and tail. I have little white baskets with soft pink polka dot lint on. going to put all the snack in there. After all its more about the parents and friends than about the kids! My invitations are bunny faces with wording on the back. Going to make everything white and soft pienk. Nice ideas are also, Buttefly, Flowers, polka dots!

Hope this helps a bit

we are having a little tea party and we are cooking sausages rolls, sausages, cheese straws, cumcumber & carrot sticks, grapes. Basically all picky finger food our motto is dont go to over the top otherwise when they get older & look back on pictures they will want bigger & better partys every year x x

We are having a big party, I have hired the community centre where we have playgroup (it's big enough for everyone, child-proof, already has mat area for babies to crawl around and outdoor playground for bigger kids, also good kitchen facitilies, toilets etc) my house just isn't big enough for all those people especially when there will be like 50 adults, 12 babies and about a dozen bigger kids, it would have been impossible to section off a safe area for the babies to play in my house.

I do balloon decorating (well I used to do it as a job and have all the equipment) so the theme is balloons in 4 different colours. I used matching invitations and have ordered matching tablecloths, plates and lolly bags. I am saving things like petting zoo, bouncy castle etc for older birthdays when my baby can appreciate them.

I am mostly catering for the parents but have decided I should have a bit of kid food and baby food too. It will all be finger food. The party is at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon. I haven't decided on the design of the cake and its only 3 weeks away. I'm thinking I need to stick with the theme but haven't even decided what sort of cake I'm making!

Good luck, hope it all goes well.

I am also trying to find birthday ideas for my little girl's first birthday next month. Because she is just a baby and will not remember this birthday, I figure it will be more for the older family members to remember the day she was born. She will have fun either way just spending time with the ones she loves. So maybe a way to include the older kids is the best way to go.

I'm doing Sesame Street New Beginnings design for my boy. It is so cute. Birthday cake is going to be made into building blocks, and I got some colouring-in books for the kids as a gift. And you can use heaps of bright colours too. I also have a bubble machine and a small jumping castle. I know, a little over the top, but he is only one once. lol. There are soo many helpful websites on food for the kids too. Goodluck planning!
