My 10month old daughter has been sitting since 6months crawling at 7months and walking unassisted at 9months 3weeks.



My nephew didn't sit until 9months then when he got to 12/13months he crawled, walked and talked in the space of 3weeks.



Your son will get there at his own leisurely pace. Enjoy the fact that when you pop to the loo you know where he will be when you get back instead of feeding biscuits to your DVD player or hiding the remote in your boots :)

hi stacey! i have a 10 months old daughter, she started to crawl at her 8hth month, sits at 9th month, and now on her 10th month she really loves to stand up every time. while eating, playing or watching her favorite Barney! She's not yet walking on her own feet, but she love to take steps when i hold her hands or her sides. we moms don't have to worry if our babies delay their walking, it's just because they we're not yet really ready.

My daughter is doing the same thing. She scoots on her bottom but does not crawl. She walks with help when I hold her hands. She can't pull herself up yet but she will stand and hold on to something. Hopefully she will learn soon.

My boy gave his first walking steps just after 8 months,,, then nothing, and just after nine months he started walking.. he is now a tad over 10 months, and walking around like mad. He started crawling at 6 months. I wouldt worry too much.. each baby develops on its own.. some of my friends kids only started crawling at one year! My other son started crawling at 6 months also, but only started walking a week after his 1st birthday.

My babies are 10 months. Elizabeth only stands if I hold her. When I let go she can stand for a few seconds on her own, then she falls over. Sean is fully crawling. He also pulls himself up into a standing position and uses furniture and walkers to move around. Both very different.

My daughter who is 10 months , 9 months adjusted started sitting up around 4 months (3 months) and and she can walk for a bit started when she was 8 ( months letting go of things but she hides to do it ) she prefer to crawl still and considering she was born preemie am so proud of her for showing everyone each child is different and God has control

My Daughter nevaeh started walking at 9 months, she still crawls sometimes but she is mostly walking!! she started to crawl at 5 months , just keep trying nd he will catch on!!

my daughter is also 10months old she has been crawling since she was 7months old and has recently started trying to walk.. her best is 7 steps. my friends son is 3weeks younger and has never crawled and can only sit up. every child moves in there own time, altho a pattern has popped up that the boys do take a little bit longer.. like the old saying males take longer to mature then females etc. my brothers son didnt take his first steps till his first birthday.

My daughter 10 months scoots with the best of them and up until a week ago REFUSED to stand even holding things. She picks her legs up when you try to even stand her on your legs....some people comment that this is odd however my son (now 2 3/4)NEVER stood on peoples legs and didn't pull himeself up until about 11 months and didn't walk without a walker or hand until 15 months. I think she'll meet these milestones when she's ready and am NOT concerned at all. She is offered opportunities to gain confidence and make attempts to pull up and the like and she is mobile. it just seems this is what she's comfotable with now and when she's ready she'll move on to the next stage.

I have 10 month twins. Sean, my son, is crawling, pulling himself up and walking using furniture. Elizabeth, my daughter will ONLY sit. I have tried helping her crawl, but she refuses. So you see, age is only a number!!

My daughter is 10 1/2 mo. she has been walking now for a couple of weeks. Before she started to walk she loved holding on to my fingers and "walking" with me or anyone! If your son took a step by himself, I'm sure he's well on his way to walking in the not too distant future.

My daughter is just now 10 months. She has been sitting up unassisted since about 6 months. Crawling since about 7 1/2. Pulling to standing for about a month and half now. Crusing around furniture while holding on for about 3 weeks. Occasionally I will catch her standing alone but when she notices this she usually falls down on her bottom. She will walk if we hold her hands or give her one of those push behind walker toys. I'm guessing standing alone is a few weeks out. Walking probably soon to follow that. Just wanted to add when she did start crawling it was literally overnight. The previous day she just rocked (and did this for several weeks) back and forth on all fours and for awhile even scooted backwards, which made her mad. Then one day, I held a toy in front of her and she reached for it and went forward on hands and knees. It hasn't stopped since. LOL She was never a army crawler/dragger. She went straight to crawling with her tummy up.

My son is 91/2 months old and just finally started ROLLING about a month ago!!! He has been able to sit on his own since 5 months but hasn't developed the desire to crawl or walk. It worried me a bit but I guess everyone does grow at their own rate.

My son just turned 10 months. He has mastered crawling everywhere ....BACKWARDS! He was late to roll from his back to his tummy also. He finally got his first tooth. He was 10 days early. I think babies just develop differently. My four and a 1/2 year old was walking and drinking out of a sippy cup at this age. My 10 month old still has to eat pureed foods because his gag reflex is sooo bad. I'm just being patient. He surprises me each day when he discovers and learns how to do new things. Babies are pretty amazing that way.

My son will be 10 months on the 27th. He can only sit by himself. He cannot go from laying to sitting and cannot roll from back to stomach. The Dr. keeping an eye on him and will recheck him on the first of February.

My son is 10 months on the 31st and he has been crawling since he was 4 and a half months old...he doesnt walk yet but he pulls up on everything and cruises on the furniture and stuff..the only thing i can say is that babies do things at there own pace. give him a lil more time and i bet hell be crawling or walking

My son is almost 11 months and all he wants to do is sit. While lying down he will move pushing his feet and he is trying to roll from back to belly..but no crawling or walking for us either! It can be a little nerve racking!!

My daughter is 10 months old and can sit up on her own, but not crawling. She will roll to get where she wants to go. I truly believe she's just kind of lazy! If there is a toy out of her reach, she'll try to get to it, but if not, oh well she'll just grab what's closest to her! My oldest son was 10 1/2 months when he started to walk, and my middle son was 13 1/2 months and here she is, not even crawling! She can't pull her self up to stand yet either. Funny how different they all are.

My son was crawling at 6 monthes and walking at 9 1/2 monthes. But I know a baby girl who will be a year old in February and cannot crawl or walk yet. He will learn, some babies take longer!

My son is 9 1/2 months old and just started crawling at the beginning of Jan. After he figured out he can now get around by himself, it only took a couple of days before he figured out how to pull himself up using the couch, in his pack-n-play, in his crib and pretty much anything that he can pull himself up to stand. Like a lot of people on here say . . . all babies crawl and start walking at different times and when he is ready, there'll be no stopping him. :-)

My 10 month old isnt crawling or walking either! I am thinking its because she knows she is spoiled.... I call her a momma hip baby(always on mommy's hip!) I have tried the motivational toys at a distance... not fooling her :) She ia the baby of 4.... and they are all unique. All of my other children started crawling at 9-10 months and all started walking at 13 months. I just try to enjoy that she is still too baby to crawl... It goes so fast! :)

My son is 10 months old and has started walking though I am told this is quite advanced and 12-15 months is the average age for walking.

My son is 10 mths old and is crawling, standing, and getting into everything....my daughter however (our first child) was alot slower...she only crawled at 12 mths and didn't really care to get into anything....I think it varies with all children how they are going to move, etc....

my little girl is now 10months she sat up on her own at 3months, she was crawlin at 6months, but shuffled first at about 4 and a half months. im tryin to get her to walk on her own but she wont let go of my hands and walks around holdin on. we found her up the stairs about 3weeks ago lookin inbetween the poles with a big grin on her face

My son had the army crawl thing going on as well. At times it was funny but then I wondered when the "real" crawl would come. Now he does both. He's a big boy but when he crawls, he looks so little because he doesn't crawl far nor fast. Aaawww my baby is growing up

Aidan always wants to do this too... he's so proud of himself when he's actually standing up... he's walking all over the place with our help. He's also GI Joe crawling right now.... he doesn't want to keep those knees underneath him, but he gets around just fine. However, I would not worry about your child's development. All babies are different. There's nothing wrong with him! Some babies skip crawling all together.

My daughter is 10 months old... has been getting into sitting position since 4 months.. crawling since 6 months.. standing on her own since 7 months.. but wont walk...she takes 4 or 5 steps here and there since she has been 9 months.. but just prefers to crawl.. Some babies would just rather sit there and be content... I dont think its a "they cant do it" but rather a "they dont want to or have not interest"... Natalie got up onto all 4's in the crawling position for 2 months before she went forward... Our babysitter told us just to let her go.. even if she gets angry and she will do it..
Before we would just hand her the toys and i think that is why she never wanted to crawl... now its the same with walking.. she knows she can crawl.. so why walk!

Wil is 10.5mths and has only been crawling for a month. He is pulling up on everything now tho....dont think it'll be long till he walks. Maybe by his birthday :O)

he's getting faster and faster now and i have job to keep up with him and catch him...

he loves just wondering around in the house and in the shops,and he likes to be chase around or him chasing you...

My little girl is 10months and has been wlking since she was 9months old!! She is into Everything!!!!! Enjoy them dnt wish them away as it all goes far to quick my eldest daughter starts pre school next month and cant believe how quick it has gone!! My eldest didnt walk until she was 13/14months old so it goes to show they are all different. Enjoy them at every stage!!!!!

My daughter is 10 months today and she started crawling about 2 to 3 months ago, she took her first steps about a week ago but cant seem to incourage her enough to do it again, she just hasnt got the confidence yet to do it on her own. As for pulling herself up onto things....cant get her to stay out my drawers and cupboards lol but child locks soon solved that hehe! I've heard that boys normally take a little longer than girls to do things, so he should do it in his own time :D x x x

my son is walking, no perfectly but insists on walking everywhere. although i have a girlfriend and all 3 of hers kids where nearly 2 before they walked. so really they wil just do it when they r ready.

My 10 month old is walking but only because he is determined to chase his big brother. When big brother was this age he was barely crawling but went almost straight to walking by 1 year of age. He did a funny left knee right foot crawl. They are all so different and have different motivators. I would just go with what he is interested in working on.
