Is your little one waving hi or bye yet??

Yeah, my daughter is waving hi and bye, and in fact she says hi and bye bye, too. BUT every kid is sooo different! You can't compare two - not even if they're the same age. I don't think its odd that your son isn't doing any of that. He is probably advancing in other area - like eating new and different foods, discovering he can move, etc.

Mikael is almost 11 months old, he claps his hands, says in Hebrew Alo Aba (Hello dad) on the phone when he sees a person talking on the phone. He also has a doll in that he calls Buba (dool in Hebrew), he kisses when asked, he knows the difference between caresing and hiting, when he doesn't want something he says nononono and moves his head from side to side, and he means it.
But every kid is defferent, he is the forth baby and his development is totally different form the other 3. So just enjoy every minute you have with your baby and stop comparing him to other babies. He is unique....he is your baby...
Love and light

My son just started waving last week. He is so good at it now, that yesterday morning when I was holding him before leaving for work, he motioned for his nana to hold him instead. Once I passed him over, he then turned to me and waved "bye". They learn so fast!
My son will be 10 months on Jan. 31. Like you, mine hasn't started waving bye or hi either. I wave to him all the time, and he hasn't done it yet. Heck, he don't even look my way when I drop him off at daycare. (LOL) He also hasn't start clapping either.

my daughter waves a lot, but always not at the right time, like when we say bye bye. So I think she's just practising how to wave and doesn't know that it means bye bye. She started saying dada & tata a month ago, and suddenly this week started saying mama. I don't care if she really knows it means mama or not, it still sounds sweet to me!

My daughter is almost 10 months and she loves to wave. I can't tell if it is hi or bye. If you tell her "say hi to the baby" she waves and says hi...if I am leaving and I say "Mommies going bye bye" she will do the same wave...
yes, she also do clapping, beaitiful eyes, kisses me when told, closes and opens hands when told.... i think, you have to repeat and repeat everytime how to do it while uttering the words... so it will be instilled in his mind if he heard the command.

mine waves constantly when we leave a room of the house he will wave to anyone who is sitting anywhere in the house to every car that drives past if we are out the front of the house, even in his car seat he just sits and waves as he watches cars go past and to people in shopping centres, carparks etc.you say bye or hi and he waves.when they are ready they will wave just keep doing it with them thats what we did.
my daughter doesnt really day anything. she can say hi but i doubt she seriously gets the word, and she doesnt say it often. She can wave when you wave first and clap but she doesnt put a hi or bye with any of it. dont stress, he will learn when the time is right, just keep doing what your doing! i stress a lot about Nat learning things and my husband has to remind me that she has a few years to learn things.

my little girl is 9 months, she doesnt say anything yet, but waves to say bye and if she sees someone she will wave, only in the last week or so. every baby is different my older daughter was a couple of months older before she waved, all do it at their own pace!

My son, 10 months, 1 week does not say hi or bye yet, nor does he wave. Our family is very far away and we rarely ever see anyone, so perhaps this could be one reason why he doesn't; because he hasn't had many opportunities to try it out.

My son started a couple of weeks ago, both to people coming and going. now he has stopped waving to people as much and waves to the cat and dog as they wal away and to his favourite appliance - the microwave - he know its where his food comes from! He smiles and waves happily at it! lol

My daughter Allyson does wave every now and then but it's just because she's mocking people not because she knows what she's doing it for. But she is just now begining to know the meaning of bye bye so maybe soon she will put the two together. So your baby is just like most nine month olds
