It is ok to give a baby a btha every night.

I am a little jealous also.....My son has eczema and he can only do well if i give a bath every other day......If I do his patches get really bad on his elbows, cheeks . and back

I believe it good and accepted to ginve your child a bath every night...I give mine (8mnths) too, she loves bathing I do that @ 6pm after her mashed vegies. after her bath it's warm milk, she sleeps right through

I give my son a bath too every night. It is part of his night ritual. It also helps calm him down and prepare for bed.
I wish I had a ritual more like Helen Solomons, she seems to have it down pat!

I always gave my baby a bath everynight and the doctor said it was fine because he was so fussy and that made him happy. But now he has developed eczema so I can only give a bath every other night and have to use Dove body wash or Cetaphil body wash because it is much gentler for babies (I would have thought baby wash was the most gentle out there! Who knew?). So if he's not getting dry skin from it, I think it's fine.

We also bath every night as well.... I feed her supper then we bath, couple times a week it's a good wash, once a week we do hair ,but the rest of the time it's just relaxing and playing. She loves her bath! Then boobie and off to bed....

I have bathed my daughter nightly from the first day her umbilical stump fell off.Alternating just warm water one night and soap the next up until she turned 3 months and then I started using soap every night. She has had cereal in her bedtime bottle since 4 days old,it is standard practice throughout my family,and you don;t hear us complain about sleepless nights . No issues with GI problems or allergies or anything, Just very healthy ,happy, and advanced babies. And well rested mommies and daddies as well.

I agree completely with all the other moms on this one….of course a nice warm bath before bed is not only relaxing…but promotes good hygiene(spit ups, dried milk, slobber!) Plus it’s a good bum soak after all those wet, and soiled diapers during the day!…

You like showering everyday right?

Just keep in mind babies do have very sensitive skin…so always use a good baby wash and shampoo…

Make sure they are nice and dry before putting on their jammies….I actually use a light blowdryer on my daughter after every diaper change…and it’s gone right into after all her baths too…along with a nice massage with baby lotion EVERYNIGHT! She’s a little spoiled some would say…but I just can’t see a baby ever being to pampered!

My baby girl gets a bath everynight..it's a routine and I find it helps her sleep. I have actually left my hubby with visitors to run up and give her a quick bath before I feed her her last cereal & milk. I know it sounds a little much but it works for us and I dont want to break the routine this early in the game..:)

I give my son a bath every night, but I do so before feeding him. The routine is, bath, pjs on, followed by cereal and a bottle of milk. Usually 3 tbsp of cereal, and 4-6 oz of cereal. I give him plenty of time to interact with mommy, daddy and big sis before putting him down to sleep. He's usually in bed by 9:30 and sleeps until about 8 -8:30 the next morning.

My 6 mo old hangs out for her bath every night. She loves the hot water and play time. It relaxes her and obviously accomplishes the purpose of hygene. I only wash her hair once a week coz it just doesn't get oily but the ritual is important and helps her sleep. As long as your baby's skin isn't drying out (use good baby soap and/or lotion), it's fine.

I agree with that statement! Well, as long as it's condusive with the baby's skin. My boys can't have a bath more then twice a week because of thier skin. Trust me, I know.
I'm really glad for you that your baby has such a wonderful time getting baths! Also, alittle jealous! ;-) I wish my boys had such an easy time sometimes!

We were told in the NICU to only bathe Kaitlyn every other night...she seems to sleep so much better on bath nights now that I am really considering giving her a bath every night! She is 6 months old now and I started giving her stage 1 baby food at 4 months and now she is on stage 2...she seems a lot happier now that her tummy is fuller = )

bath time is every night in our house fed at 6pm bath 7 pm bottle book and bed for both my boys in establishes a great routine. both my boys go to bed without a fuss and sleep for 11 hours they now bath time in the time to get the rest of there energy out

My son lpoves his bathtime, so bathtime is evertnight in our house. tehre is no problem with it. I was giving my son solids by months and he loves it and he sleeps even better now. =]

Infact its good to give bath every night as they feel very relaxed and comfortabl and can sleep well... i give my baby a bath after her cereal and she sleeps well and then gets up for another milk and sleeps again until morning

I think it is Ok to give a bath nightly, but also not necessary. If your baby has dry skin or other skin issues, you may want to cut back on the baths. We only bath the babies a few times a week, and one shows some eczema patches occasionally.
