my bub Isabella has around 6-7 bottles still - as well as 3 meals a day and snacks..., and then sometimes a bottle throughout the night. she weighs 10kg. i was just more wondering though how are you supposed to try and cut it out - she always wants a bottle! especially when she teeths - she wont have a bar of food.
I am not worried - just wondering what other mums are doin? its not like she will be on bottles at 10.. hehe

my son turns 1 in week and wasnt weaned onto a bottle until 8 1/2 months because i fel pregnant again, but he started havin 4-5 then 4 now he has 3, we get up have brekkie of some cereal and toast a bottle at 10 lunch at 12.30-1 of a sandwich and a custard or yoghurt some fruit then a bottle at 4 dinner at 6.30-7 then at bottle at 9-9.30 and bed

Hi, I was kind of worrying that my baby girl wasn't having enough bottles. she has about 3 bottles during the day and that 1 at bed time. sometimes she'll want one during the night but she is starting to sleep through the night. I'm scared that she isn't getting all the stuff she needs trhough the milk.

I have been giving my daughter a sippy cup, for about seven months an she may take it about two to three times a day, but she is eating more food though. she weighs 19lbs

My daughter has three bottles a day, three meals plus snacks and only water to drink. I don't think juice etc is necessary at this age.

My son has two bottles a day, along with 3 meals and 2 snacks. one bottle when he wakes in the morning and one before bed.
food is more important nutritionally for them at this age, but as long as she has an appetite for her meals then there is no reason she shouldnt have her milk too. dont worry about it too much

My babygirl has 7 bottles of 7oz a day but now bottles at night. She has 3 meals and 2 snacks. She eats a lot. I also give her plenty of water in a sippie cup. Once in a while I give her juice. Whenver she gets fussy I give her a pacifier or some water in a sippie cup. She usally does calm down.

my son eats 3 meals a day, and whatever i eat, and 2 bottles, one in the morning and one at dinner. at night no milk, only water, keeps the teeth from rotting. and it seems he just wants something to put him back to sleep.

my baby is 11 months old and she will have maybe 3 bottles a day at the most. she may have 2 11 oz and like a 5 oz. she rarely wants anything at nite till about 5 or 6 in the am.

Hi Dee,
Wow, she must be hungry!! I have just changed Matilda's routine with bottles two days ago and going well. She now has her morning bottle with porridge, morning sleep, bottle (bout 12pm), then lunch, arvo sleep, dinner (5pm) and bed time bottle (7-8pm). She drinks water all day, but I tend to only give her a rusk or a bickie if she is fussy. We are all different, aren't we??

my daughter has about 3-5 8oz bottles a day some days vary depending on her mood...i started her on the juice because she just wanted the bottle just to suck on and i didnt want to keep giving her formula i just stayted her on mile and she is doing good on it,

My daughter is 11 months old. She has 4 six ounce bottles of formula a day. One when she wakes up, one with lunch, one after her pm nap, and one before bedtime. I think she averages drinking around 20 ounces of formula a day. At dinner we have been giving her a sippy with water. She drinks just a bit of that. She eats two meals a day (lunch and dinner) and has a small snack once a day. She weighs about 20 lbs. :)

my daughter is 11 months now and she gets 3-5 bottles a day, and she also has her 3 meals a day with some snacks and i use the juice to cut her bottles down, i started giveing her juice in a sippy cup to cut the bottles down and she is doing great she loves the sippy cup it works

My son is completely off of the bottle! He drinks sippy cups of juice and water throughout the day, and then he has formula at night out of his sippy cup. My son was the same way at about 9 months, but I just tried to feed him and give him other stuff than a bottle. My doc kept telling me he should not be drinking as much formula as he was. He was drinking between 35 oz and 45 oz of formula a day. they told me he only needed 20 - 24. I basically had to substitute water and juice instead of forumual. He would get mad at first, but eventually he would be thirsty enough to drink whatever I gave him.

My son has just gone 11 month. Hes has two bottles a day, one in the morning and one before bed, he has done since he was 6-8 month. He has loads of juice through out the day & water in a sippy cup. Just stopped giving him milk through the day, before naps ect and replaced it with water or juice.. worked it treat, he doesnt like milk that much. also just started giving him cows milk, hes loves it.

Connor is 11 months, he has 2 bottles now, one when he wakes up and one before he goes to bed, sometimes he may wake in the night and i may give him a little milk then. Apart from that he has three meals a day.

my daughter doesnt have bottles anymore... she refuses formula, cows milk etc, unless it comes out of the carton.
she drinks, water, sugar free cordial and heavly dialuted juice.
has done since about 9 months old.
she drinks from sippy cups and spill proof sports sippers.
the only time i will give her a bottle is when she is sick and clingy, and even then she will chuck it

My son doesnt take a bottle during the day...he just doesnt want it rather have a cup...sometimes i give him a bottle before bed if he is having trouble going to sleep other wise he gets two 6 oz cups and one 8oz of milk a day and water and juice whenever he wants in between.

we have been on just 2 - 3 sippy cups a day of full cream milk since 9 months . 1 in the morning and one at night and then usually both my boys have a glass of milk midday with there lunch

my baby is the same, i seen a doctor about it, but he said its ok to stil have bottels, my baby has heaps to, im trying to put her on cows milk soon, dont be worried

My daughter turned one today. Although she has been drinking from a cup (the ones for babies) since she was 9 mos. old, it has not slowed her down. If anything, she drinks more from the cup than she did from the bottle, 3 10 oz cups of milk and 2 6 oz. cups of juice w/ 3 meals a day and maybe sometimes snacks. I'm really big on teeth and things like that so I was lucky to have her off of a bottle really soon (I hated washing them). I suggest that if she eats really well, skip that first morning bottle and feed her first thing to limit the amout of liquid she'll drink. That's what I did =)

My daughter will be 1 in 3 weeks. She drinks four 5-6oz bottles a day (morning before breakfast, one after her moring nap, one before dinner and one before bed). She eats 3 meals a day and has water or juice (in a sippy) with her meals. She weighs almost 23 lbs and our Ped said no more than 24 oz formula or milk a day (we just started mixing milk in with the formula) and no less than 12-14 oz of formula or milk a day (not including other drinks).

my son weighs about 19 lbs....and nurses 6 times, plus 3 meals, and 2/3 snacks a day. He also always has a sippy cup of water, and sometimes milk. It seems like I'm always setting out food or cleaning it up!!!

my baby is one today ( Happy Birthday, baby!). she actually hasn't drank from a bottle in about 2 months. when I started giving her juice, i introduced it in a sippy cup. once she got the hang of it , i tried to give her the formula in it. after a while ( she didn't know what to think at first) she did really well and she only drank out of a sippy cup. i have 4 children and tried to get each of them off the bottle before they turned 1. ( I was lucky cuz it worked each time). i know when they're teething they like to chew on it. just try to get the ones with the soft spout. that might help

My son is 12 months today, he has an 8oz bottle first thing when he wakes up, breakfast at around 10am, lunch at 12.30 then another bottle around 3am with a nap. He will then have dinner about 5.30ish and another 8oz bottle to go to bed with at around 7pm. Sometimes he wakes in the night and we give him a bottle to go back off with but he often leaves half of it. 6-7 bottles sounds a lot, but i guess it depends on the size of them, whether they are affecting mealtimes or not and her weight.

My son is 1 on friday, he will ave 1/2 bottles a day. He will sometimes have 1 7oz bottle in a morning and same again before he goes to bed.
Other than them he drinks juice, not a big fan of water. He also has 3 meals day and snacks inbetween x

No problem, that is what a nurse had told me. If your kids eats well and drinks milk/ formula and does his/her business and is loved that is all that matters. Forget what the books say, they are just a guideline and don't bust your head if your child does not do things exactly like in the book. You only have to worry if she is way off, or you would just know something is wrong. Glad I could help.

Does she eat a lot of food. All kids are different. AS long as you know that she is eating proper food for her age and drinking, peeing and pooping, you are alright and so is she. If she starts to eat or drink nothing then that is a problem.

My son has 3 8oz bottles a day. Maybe a 4th if he has missed a nap. He has 3 meals a day with some snacks but not often. he weighs 24lbs. I just slowly moved his smaller bottle feeding to larger ones, he usually wants a bottle, 2 hours after he eats, before he naps, but now he is deciding that he doesn't really want to nap in the morning, hence the extra bit of bottle. I think that if you move a bottle out or combine 2 depending on how big the bottles are that you use, you can adjust your kid if that is what you want. My son sleeps the night so he hasn't had the need for a bottle since 6 months old. In any case at your child's one year check up you should ask her pediatrician about it.

I actually just read something that said babies should be weaned from the bottle by one. She already uses her cup for water after meals, we'll begin to move her milk to the cup also and try lo let the bottles go. O! and our daughter Orlando eats 3 good meals a day. She has a healthy appetite.

I think the key to intoducing the sippy cup is to do it early and start with the ones that have silicone spouts. I replaced my sons bottle with a sippy at 8 months old and he never looked back. He was actually very interested in the sippy :))

My 11 month old is completely off the bottle. She has been since she was 10 1/2 months old. She gets 6 or 7 oz. of formula 3 times a day with food and she is completely satisfied.

My baby girl has 4 bottles per day (6 to 8 oz each). She also eats 3 meals per day and a snack. Sometimes I practice the sippy cup with her with 1/2 apple juice, 1/2 water in it. Hopefully she will just about be off the bottle by her first bday (March 15, 2010).

My little one is 11 months and wants NOTHING to do with a sippy cup; I have bought 3 different kinds so far and she hates them all; I put formula, juice (which she's not a big fan of) and water in them but she doesn't care. However, she consumes about six bottle each day but they're only 5 oz and many times she may not drink all of that. She eats her 3 meals per day and has snacks too.

My son will be 1 in 7 days. Weighs 25lbs and takes about 4-5 bottles of 6oz each. 3hree meals and after lunch and dinner we offer him fruit or yogurt. -ometimes during the day Well give me a few of the gerber yogurt melts. His dr. Was concerned he was drinking too much milk so at I cut down on the scoops and same amount of water. Sometimes kids use the bottle for comfort. Our son will usually take a bottle at all times but when he gets whiny we distract him and play he'll usually be fine after. Our daughter was way more high maintaince.

my baby wants 2 bottles of 240 ml at night, the first one at nine and the second at twelve, but the good thing is, he never wakes up during the night and we found some piece for our sleep also. he was always waking up for milk at night two or three o' clock and it was very bad for us, because we are working both now.

My daughter has about 3 bottles a day plus 3 proper meals and she grazes all day as well but shes only 8.5kg. She'll have a bottle in the moring after her breakfast, one after lunch in bed and another after dinner about 6pm then shes in bed at 8ish and thats it till the morning but they're not full bottles only about 175ml and thats all she'll have. But we're going to start offering her sippy cup instead soon since she will drink her water out of them but not her milk.

yeah i think she may just decide for herself then.... she just loves her bottle and i can tell when she starts to want it. i have tried to give her food but she just refuses and then you try the bottle and she has it. I would say though by the time she reaches 1 and a bit i may start pulling back the bottles. its sooo hard she seems like such a baby still

I would worry to much about how many bottles your bub is having,some babies enjoy the drinks se will let you know when she will cut them down.my little girl has about 2-3 bottles then other days she may want more. Everyone is different. If you want to cut a bottle out replace it with water to keep her going through the day. with teething they perfer the smooth feeling and something to bit onto.
