Same thing is happening with me! I'm at 38 weeks. Seems like mostly at night though. Very annoying. Feels like she's burrowing down.

Good luck Brady. What'd the Dr. say? Wonder if you're having what they call "prodromal" labor. It's early labor, but certainly real labor. Could last for days, so be sure to get plenty of rest, water and nourishment. Oh that reminds me...if you're dehydrated, it can also cause you to have more contractions...so drink plenty of water. I heard we are supposed to drink half of our body weight in oz. a day, or drink enough water to make your urine super light! Keep us posted!

probably braxton hicks. I didn't have them with my first one, but have been having them pretty regularly the last few weeks. My midwife said if I have morfe than 5 in an hour and the intensity increases to give her a call. Otherwise it is just the body getting ready... just think of them as practice contractions and breathe with them. best wishes. The last four weeks are the worst because of being uncomfortable and anxious to have your baby on the outside. Hang in there.. :)

Oh and my massage therapist (she's AMAZING) said massaging the heels (mainly), hips and lower legs extensively is a supposed trigger for natural induction. She won't massage those areas on me.  But she did say that my hubby could do it when we get a couple weeks out if I wanted him to but that it was our decision. Just a thought....

Careful with the nipple stimulation thing b/c I read that it can cause really strong contractions that are actually harmful to the baby since your body isn't actually ready for them. Nipple stimulation was the one "wive's tale" item that was strongly suggested against because of that. I'd look into it. (Not trying to be a pain...just wanted to pass it on in case you'd not read much about it and it's true)

I forget whether thats a sign or not whether they get worse with activity or subside, i can't find the packet my ob just gave me. pretty much it's all a waste of time and paper for me unless my water breaks LOL Thats when its labor for me DAMMIT! its not fair! LOL

i should go for a walk... i get contractions purtty strong when i walk. but... my feet are really swollen adn it hurts to walk. but apparently walking to the kitchen does the trick.. seeing as i just had one that hurt like a bitch. on a scale of 1-10... 8. owie. lol

patience my child JEEZ your are an eager beaver in more ways than one HAHAH ya know all that sex is what got you here in the first place LOL....I can't talk I'm a nympho myself LOL it'll be time soon enough. another mom said her ob recommended prim rose oil softgels help open the cervix when inserted into the vagina but I've never heard that and would take it with a grain of salt. have you tried drinking raspberry tea yet? its counter productive though really because you need to drink alot and there's only a chance it could work and on top of it all because its tea its caffeinated and makes you pee more than you intake which can screw up your bladder. Pregnancy and labor take forever. i wish it was more like one of those old cartoons where you put the tablet in the microwave and 2 minutes later out pops an entire meal. LOL thats not asking TOO much is it?!? HAHAH

that would be my luck. i feel like i've been waiting for centuries. lol. and im even trying EVERYTHING to start labor. sex. nipple stimulation... more sex ;) haha i even learned in teh labor class that you can make your cervix open if you picture it opening and for some women the mental image is enough to actually open it... apparently i''m not one of those women. lol either that or my cervix is open... and im not progressing. i just want to pop already!!!

you'll probably go late just so he can laugh at you when he's born HAHAHA The first pregnancy is the worst cuz it's all new. its fun though I still remember by first. it drove me crazy. But it was well worth it in the end. You'll see soon enough.

sounds more like braxton hicks and I'm pretty confident anyone you talk to hospital or dr will tell you the same ONLY because they are changing consistency. Some people call them practice contractions which I think is shit! They suck and more people I know that have had BH said they hurt worse than real labor. I know it doesn't make you feel any more at ease which is the biggest bummer! if it was labor they would just keep getting closer together and stronger. But since they're flip-flopping on painful and not so much its probably just BHC's Trust me when i say I know how you feel! I was that stupid teenager in the hospital that last month crying in pain and couldn't talk that kept getting sent home....because of BHC's until I was a week late and had my emergency c-section. Like I said I don't progress. Good luck though I'm here for ya chicky. Been there done that sorta thing ya know? Ask away i'll pass along all the info I can that I've gathered in my 3 pregnancies and places of work!

they've been continuing...this close together since yesterday at two. they got even less painful but now are starting to get stronger again...

HAHA if they continue for a few hours call the doc. Braxton hicks contractions (false contractions) SUCK!!!! the only difference from them and real contractions is they go away. I wait for a few hours before I do anything no matter how bad or close they get because I have a history and I don't progress AT ALL down there even with contractions.

in thirteen days. lol march 8th. i've been having contractions... pretty close together (five mins max) but they arent that painful... my sister says its just my body getting ready... i wish it'd speed it up...

the cramps could be braxton hicks contractions. considering cramps are technically contractions anyway. It's more so uncomfortable and annoying than anything. When is you due date again?

My dr told me the same thing....totally normal and doesn't even mean anything is happening in there necessarily. It's the contractions that you want to watch (frequency and any increase in strength), not really the cramps.
