Peeing all over the place!

My son is almost 20 months. I know playing with his penis is a very normal and healthy thing for him to do, but my concern is he is peeing all over himself. He pulls it out of his diaper, and just pees. He has also learned how to take his pants and diaper off, and then peeing on the couch, the floor, the wall... I'm tired of cleaning up pee! It's not sanitary. We have been trying to potty train him, but he isn't quite ready yet. Has anyone else had their son do this? Any tips on keeping the pants or diaper on? Or is this just stage I have to deal with?

LOL the funny thing with boys is they don't need to unsnap those onsies! He just went down his pants, and in the side of his diaper/onsies. We resorted to taping his diaper on. His fascination with his penis isn't so great anymore, thankfully!

I would like to know if playing with his pens constanly is normal. He seems to be obsessed. A new diaper lasts 10 min. He's either going threw the top or if he can'tthe side are all torn up. Any one know

Great advice, Marla! I will keep that in mind for when we start potting training No one really puts it step by step like that for you. Much appreciated.

I have been to a potty workshop and they say that when your child is taking of their diapers when they are wet or dirty they are ready to be potty trained. It was suggested that you should never start potty training when you are busy, it should be done when you have free time. It was also suggested that you give your child a lot of juice and water and milk to drink and in an hour they should be ready to use the potty. You dont ask the child, you take them to the bathroom to use the potty. They by the way are experts. They suggested that you should start off with them sitting on the potty before doing the step that I just mentioned. Sitting on the potty makes them get use to it and makes them feel comfortable, plus it was also suggested that you have a few of your child's books and toy in a basket in the bathroom and they should stay there. I have tried the techniques and they work. When you son is peeing all over the place, it was suggested that you say no, show him where it is suppose to be done and you don't spend a lot off time talking about their bad behaviour, instead you praise them for the good things they do.

duct tape. i've taken a strip about an inch thick and start it in the back , go around front of diaper over tabs, and stop about an inch short of where you started in the back. don't forget to fold a small bit over so you have a tab to pull the tape off. you don't meed to make it tight either.

That's a great idea, Pamela! Thank you so much. I will definately be getting him to help me clean it up.

um this is a hard one both my sons from early on liked to be naked but we are in australia so I just let them go outside.. my nearly 3 year old will NOT wear a nappy and will do anything to take it off this would be fine if he was toilet trained but unless I remember to take him he wont take himself ( he has a comprehension delay ) .. I don't know what to suggest. you don't want to tell him off or the potty training wont go too well but at the same time he is old enough to understand thats not on.. have you tried getting him to help you clean it up ? so there is a consequence but not a punishment.

We had this problem with our older son undressing during naps and bed time. We had a few pee episodes. He did outgrow it, but while it was going on, we tried lots of tricks unsuccessfully, but in the end, we found that putting his sleepers on backwards was effective (he undid any types of closures and took off shirts and pants). He did outgrow this phase and started to potty train at about 24 months. Good Luck!

We've tried the onsies... and he is brilliant lol. He puts his hands down his pants, and gets to his penis from the SIDE of the onesie. The only thing that works are one piece pajama's that snap, not zip ( he can work the zipper) But now that he's 30 pounds, and almost 3 feet tall, I can't find any in his size that are not fleece. Fleece is just too warm in our house.

I don't have a son, but my daughter takes her diaper off at nap time after she's pooped. I am ready to tape it on her. OR you can put him in a onesie. They can't un-snap that. I know that's a lot of onesies but it might behoove you for now.
