The last few days, my son has been crying when I drop him off at daycare. He's been going there since October. And at night, he's more clingy and needy. I suppose it's that separation anxiety phase. Anyone been through that or are you going through it with your little one? Any advice or suggestions?

One thing you can try is when you are about to drop him off prepare him by asking where are we going? Are you excited to play? stuff like that. Give him a hug and kiss and tell him you will be back. Babies need that reasurance. When you pick him up make him your top priority. Don't do the dishes don't even turn on the tv. Just have some one on one snuggle time. I did this with my daughter and she seemed to get over it within a week or so. Good luck and remember that just because he crys when you leave doesn't mean he crys the whole time. Most of the time they are done as soon as you walk out the door.

My daughter and son both have been in this phase. The best thing that helped me is distraction. When leaving I made sure they were playing or someone else had their attention. At bed time I gave them their favorite toy or put a movie in.

I am going through this now too, and as a long time daycare worker, I thought it wouldn't affect me~ From a teachers point of view, it's normal and your little one I am sure is fine about 60 seconds after your gone...~~ as a mommy it totally stinks! I know my son is fine but it still breaks my heart.
I just try and remember it's not that he doesn't want to stay.... it's he doesn't want us to go because they love us so!!
