i just got some new advise from my pediatrcian . she said it is past time to stop giving my son a bottle of formula in the middle of the night . i have been trying to figure a way to do it . she said to slowly water the formula down over several days . i have been hearing only give water a night but i knew if i suddenly offered water instead of milk he would probably throw it at me and scream the rest of the night so i have been induring the 20 min feeding in the middle of the night. the dr. said he is hungry in the middle of the night because he is trained to be, so adding the water slowly will teach his belly that night time isn't for feeding. she said if we were used to eating in the middle of the night we too would wake up ready to eat. it all seemed to make sense ,so last night i did half water and half formula (which is actually 1/2 formula and 1/2 whole milkbecause we are weaning on to whole milk as well) wish me luck and let me know if this has worked for anyone eles.
