I stay home with my daughter during the week and we both get tired of being inside all day and night. Most days now, with winter, it's too cold to go out, and have limited funds. Looking for different ways to entertain the both of us before she finishes pulling out my hair for me, which she finds amusing, especially while we're napping and she wakes up first. LOL Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

most gyms are having great sales right now, I have a 9 month old as of today, they have a play area that is supervised, will give the baby some interaction with other children and you some stress relief time. Plus an hour or so of adult time.... Maybe one of your friends can join with you, that's what I'm doing

Here's some things we did at 9mo:

Flash cards (bought or make your own - no she wont learn to read but it will exercise the part of her brain that will learn to read when she is older)
Reading books (I point at the words so he will eventually learn that those swiggly things on the page are words and mean something)
Nursery rhymes (pat-a-cake, peekaboo, insy whinsy spider)
Rolling a ball back and forth
Giving him different textures to feel and play with (but not eat)
Passing toy back and forth
banging on pots and pans
Saying different sounds he can try to copy (ba, ta, da, ma, bo etc)
Stack up blocks and let him knock them over
I know there's more but thats all I can think of right now!

I stay home with my twin daughters, so obviously there is little time for boredom with 2 of them, but sometimes the routine gets a little blah! We love story time everyday. You can read anything to her, just use good expression and change your voice a lot to keep her interest. That way you can read things you want to read as well as children's books. I sit on the floor and play toys with them, using color words, shape words, and other words to try to increase their hearing vocabulary. Hallie claps her hands and says something very similar to "good girl" a lot, so we do a lot of that. We play peek-a-boo a lot. I also try to get out with the twins a couple of times a week. I taught for 13 years before they were born and it is hard to not have much adult contact anymore. We go to the store or the post office or somewhere just to get out. It is cold now, but I put their jackets and hoods on and throw a blanket over the carrier. I also put them in their swings or jumpers in the kitchen so they can be where I am while I am cooking or baking or cleaning. Enjoy your little girl! Oh, and when my girls grab my hair (or other undesirable activities) I have found that a stern "Aah, Aah" works pretty well.
