So far I have My Pal Scout (a stuffed dog that you can upload songs and your child's name) and a musical table from Leapfrog.

Any other ideas? I told my parents and in-laws to get books and puzzles...

I got my son an activity table now that hes standing and walking along furniture, also a walker, a couple vtech books, big blocks, his first cell phone and remote controller also a vteh laptop so he can leave mine alone LOL ... take a walk through Walmart or Toysrus and look at 9-12 month section gives you tuns of ideas ... also you can open a bank account and save money for them as they really dont need to much at this age. I also did that and let family know about it also as my parents and grandparents just give money

Were getting Libby a toddle truck, (a wooden one full of bricks) as she can walk with the v-tech walker and she will love the bricks. She is also having a smart trike so when we take her brother out on his new bike we can take her out on hers too. The fisher price tea set, a ride on toy, books and clothes etc.

My son has 'My Pal Scout' and LOVES him!!! I know all of the songs. We change them monthly. Anyway, Liam will be getting a Zoobie Pet, a Hammer & Nails set, some Chuck plastic cars, a shape sorter and in his xmas stocking he'll be getting a sign that says "Liam's Room" some uncut key's & keyring since he loves mine so much (ew!) some bouncy balls that light up red & blue. I thought that was PLENTY but my hubby had other ideas - yesterday he went out and got him an electric car I wanted him to have something like that when he was old enough to know what it was so I could see the excitement in his eyes etc but no - ah well.

I'm making material blocks with rattle and bell pieces for fun noise on the inside of them for my son. I will also probably buy him some of those little people toys, perhaps a book, and maybe a couple other things. Not a lot though, I know family will probably get him more than he needs! haha

Some good ideas would be clothes (can never have to many!), stuffed toys, movies, books, wood toys (blocks, pull toys, etc.), personalized items (blankets, books, music, teddies, etc.).

I'm sure whatever you get your child, no matter how awesome, they will probably enjoy the wrapping and box better! :P

Just a heads up to you all on the activity table. Do not put the legs on it unless oyu want them to stay on. THey are hard to get back off and you can easily break them while tryign to remove them. I picked that up from another site after I had alreayd put the legs on the table.

I'm getting the table too, it's very cool!

I'm also getting my son an electronic v-tech book that reads nursery rhymes. He really likes books that talk (he had the Fisher Price Counting Animal Friends book and loved that it read to him).

Chubby books are great too!

We're buying our little boy a walk/ride toy--he loves the one at daycare. We're asking family to get an activity table, books (the crinkle kind are his favorite), and clothes. I don't know if any of you guys know but you can create a "wish list" at Toys R Us. It's like registering for a baby shower but with toys for the kiddos. My sister in law told me about it. It makes it easier for family, especially those that don't get to visit much. They can just go in the store or online and choose what they want to get. LOVE IT!! We made one for Christmas and will be making another for his first birthday!

Jenna LOVES the standing table activity centers, too. She loves books as well. I think those are great gift ideas.

I think someone is getting my son one of the walk and ride toys. I've also asked for practical things like gift cards for the car seat and clothes in bigger sizes.
