My boy started on 2 tbsp of rice cereal in the morning at 4 months. He is now almost 5 months and he has his normal bottles throughout the day, but also 2 tbsp of rice cereal and a half of a jar of fruit for breakfast and 1 jar of veggies for dinner. He loves it all!!!

My 23 week old BF baby just started rice cereal on thursday. The doc said it would help with reflux although I was trying to wait until 6 months to give any solids. I gave in. He isn't eating it well, but will take 1-2 teaspoons one to two times per day. If I can find a good avacado I will introduce that next (much healthier than rice!); otherwise banana which is also full of good stuff. I'm planning on making his food; reading super baby food by ruth yaron. good luck!

i started feeding my little girl rice pablum at 3 and a half months. now i mix rice and barley cereal, she eats it better then just rice or just barley. she eats 1 tbsp before bed. in the last week i have started adding mashed banana and she loves it. she also loves it when i give her watermelon in her fresh fruit teether. she stilll breastfeeds on demand as well. she drinks destilled water with me or in her sippy cup as well.

Padraic has been on cereal since about 2 months old. He's now had 2 types of cereal, 9 stage one foods, and 3 stage 2 foods. He's also had tastes of some of my foods. He loves his solids, and some days prefers them to his bottle.

My baby is having 5 bottles of formula a day and one meal of solids. It's usually baby rice mixed with formula and with some organic fruit puree. I batch cook fruit purees and freeze them and just take one out of the freezer each morning. Apple/pear, apple/carrot, apple/mango seem to be the current favourites. I am going to keep it on one meal per day for now as he is not quite getting the hang of eating yet.

I started my daughter on rice cereal 1x a day at 3 months old. when she went for her 4 month check up, the doctor was concerned about how often she nursed and said that i should start her on baby food (stage 1 foods) 3 times aday. so for almost a month now she is eating baby food and nursing on demand, in between feedings!!! she loves all foods, eat really well. very surprised!!

Just breastmilk. I started my first son at about 17 weeks as I thought he would sleep better. Wrong! This time I am waiting the full 6 months, firstly because that is what is recommended and secondly I cant stand all the pureeing and sterilising. lol!

Just rice cereal, though he's not too keen on a spoon yet, I give him a bottle with some rice flakes at his last feeding before he goes to sleep. I'm going to start making him some different food next week, planning on steamed pears and apples.

Georgia is 5 months and has 4 x 7 oz bottles per day (roughly 8am, 1pm, 6pm & 10pm). The daytime bottles are followed by solids, cereal in the morning, fruit at lunch and veggies for dinner. We started on pureed banana, apple, pear and pumpkin. Now she eats mashed fruit and veggies and thoroughly enjoys the lumps.

Penny eats 1 jar of stage 1 foods twice a day, a fruit for lunch and a veggie for dinner. She also eats rice cereal for breakfast. In addition she will have a bottle with each meal (5oz give or take) and a snack bottle in between lunch and dinner. All in all she has 4 bottles/day, 2 jar foods/day, and a small bowl of rice cereal/day!

Been feeding my little man baby rice for over a month now. Moved onto fruity cereal a few weeks ago and now on sweet potato, carrot and fruit purees. He absolutely loves it and having no adverse affects. Still on his percentile line for weight gain and still breast feeding him myself 4 times a day.

My JJ turned out to be a February baby(25th) so he is older than the majority here. We started rice cereal almost a month ago. He is now eating Stage 1 foods. He really enjoys green beans, sweet potatoes & applesauce. We haven't tried anything else yet as we are waiting almost a week in between to make sure he isn't allergic to any of it. I have also added a little apple juice to his cereal and he loves when I mix his baby food with his cereal. He is a great eater. Next on the menu is butternut squash(my daughter's favorite when she was a baby) and then bananas.

Ana is looking intently at us whenever we eat and making puzzled, grinning faces when she gets to taste something. My doctor didn't recommend I start feeding her much yet. She's a healthy gal at over 20 lbs. so I think she's fine. Seems like she'll like vegies though. I made some carrot soup from Farmer's Market vegies other day and she liked it.

Evan's pediatrician said that studies now show that you typically shouldn't start babies on anything besides breastmilk or formula until age 6 mos. becuase the GI tract isn't fully developed yet. It could lead to allergies. I have a big boy, but he is only on brest milk on demand with occasional supplementation with formula. I'm excited to start rice ceral soon, though!

Just breastmilk for now. I started feeding her rice cereal at night (ab 2 tbs.) and it woud keep her up all night. I tried giving her a tiny bit of mashed up pear the other day and she did the same thing. It seems like it is bothering her stomach or something. Anyone else had this problem?

Zoe has been on cereal since 3 months 1 week, my breast milk just wasn't enough for her anymore. We have tried rice, oat, and barley. She only gets it in the morning and usually one or two formula bottles and breast at bed time. Yesterday we mixed pears into her rice cereal and she loved it! Next week we are trying either peaches or bananas!

My daughters are a lil over 4 months and have had rice cereal in every bottle (soy formula) since they were 2 1/2 months. I started working with rice cereal around 13 weeks, but we are still working on it. We have good days and bad days. I found out recently that they really enjoy stage 1 bananas with their rice cereal.....and they HATE oatmeal as well as stage 1 peaches.

Just started rice cereal and he loves it. He opens his mouth nice and wide. He stares at me eating or drinking all the time and will sometimes open his mouth like I should share.
