My son was born on March 25th and I am finding that the past week or so he seems hungry all the time. He eats every 2-3 hours anywhere from 4-6 oz mostly 4 or 5. Sometimes he cant even wait 2 hours! I give him his last bottle at 11pm and he wakes at 2 or 3 starving.. then today after eating at 3 am he ate 2 1/2 oz at 5 and another 4 1/2 and 7am.. should I start giving him cereal? If so how much? In his bottle or on a spoon?

My son went through something similar.....my doctor suggested we try 1 teaspoon of rice cereal per 1 ounce of formula....and it worked! We are now using Oatmeal in his bottles, and he now takes a small bowl of oatmeal and mixed fruits during the day.....I would definitely try the rice cereal....we use Beechnut, it has LESS of something (I can't pronounce it, let alone spell it) that causes gas.....

Ya i would start him on cereal, Hims a growing boy mommy. he wonts more food now! lol.

My son was born on March 29th and he has been on cereal for almost a month now. I started out putting one scoop(comparable to the formula scoop) in every four ounce bottle. Now he gets two scoops in a 6 ounce bottle and he eats every 5 to 6 hours during the day and usually goes for 9 to 10 hours at night.

It's possible that he's going through a growth spurt. You'll have to see if your son is ready for cereal...

I would start him on some baby rice or porridge. I started my daughter at 3mths she loves her porridge now having a bowl at breakfast each morning now she goes 4hrs 4 her milk. Introduced veg 2wks ago and shes eating really well. she is pretty much weaned now having 3 small meals a day. hope it helps .
