can anybody give me some helpful hints my 7 month old march 22 baby is not crawling yet am a little concerned as my previous son was crawling at 5 1/2 months i try to motivate him by encouraging with toys and bright n colourful things but he doesnt seem to be interested .. could it be he is not ready??? i am not sure if anyone can help that'd be great

My daughter, born 3/31/10, is also not crawling. Rolls around but no crawling. My son didn't crawl until he was about 8 months. I suspect my daughter will be later than that as her big brother constantly brings her toys to play with. She has no need to go get anything!
Every kid will make their milestones at different times - the numbers in the books are just averages. He'll get there in his own time.

my son also born 3/3/2010 is also just barely sitting by himself... please don't get frustrated, just embrace them and enjoy this baby stage that is taking a bit longer than usual, as they grow up so quickly and then you wish them small again!

My guy just started today at 7 and 1/2 months and i could of sworn he was going to start at 5 months but he just couldnt get the balence until now, i even was crawling around the room to help teach him it didnt go so well, but like most have said every little guy goes at their own pace

My son is also 7.5 months (born Mar. 3) and he isn't crawling yet either...He is just learning to sit on his own...Every baby is different...My daughter was 9 months before she started crawling and over a year before she started walking...I wouldn't worry too much about it...He will let you know when he is ready to crawl=)

my first was crawling at this age and my second isnt! Total second child syndrome! I think my first was even starting to pull herself up, starting is the key word!

Doctors ask about milestones they are hitting they never ask about crawling because some babies simply never crawl, my niece butt scooted across the floor and some kids never crawl they just start walking. My son is 7 months born March 24th and he trys to crawl but doesn't have it yet

yes bailey is not sitting up yet even though he started rolling over at 5 weeks he has just started commando crawling as of yesterday .. so am so happy and boy is he on the move hehe

we were very suprised when our daughter was rolling over at 7 weeks.. we thought wow.. shes gonna be crawling in no time. Not so, shes almost 7 mths and we are not even sitting up yet. Every baby is so different and it soo hard to not compare. As much as I want her to be crawling I really havent baby proofed my house yet.. so im not that anxious :) I need to get to the store and buy some outlet plugs!!

Jalissa was born on the 8th March 2010 and when I put her in a sitting up position she can sit up for ages but can not get to the sit up position by herself yet and is not crawling yet. When we prop her up on her hands and knees she will rock back and forward but she can not get up on her hands and knees by herself yet.

My son Was born on 3/17 and he doesn't crawl yet! He sets on his own and has since he was 5 months old! He gets on his hands and knees and rocks, and he can scooch backwards, but no crawling! He cut his first 2 bottom front teeth at 6 months (both at the same time)! My oldest son never crawled! He just pulled up on Mother's Day and took off walking at my families Mother's day cook out! It was the best Mother's Day present a first time mom could ask for! I wouldn't worry! He may never crawl then again he might take of across the floor tomorrow! Just keep working with him and let him go at his own pace! Good Luck!

My son was born on 10 march is still not crawling yet but as already got four teeth and sat unsupported by 5mths so guess babies all develop at different ages

All babies are different my son is only a couple of days older then yours and he hasnt crawled or busted out any teeth yet

My daughter Haylee was born on March 1st and she is still not crawling. She can set up forever, roll around, and even scoot backwards when she is on her stomach but no sign of crawling. I was worried too because a friend has a girl that is 3 weeks older thank Haylee and she is walking!!!!! But every baby is different and they will do it when they are ready!

I always put madison to bed on her belly. She had spit up problems with her acid reflux i didnt want her to choke on it.
Just keep trying with him. I would put madison on her knees and then watch her. she eventually got it.

My son was born 4 weeks premature on 3-17-10. He is not crawling yet either. His pediatrician said the 'new' crawling age is between 7-8 months because they do not get as much tummy time or get put to bed on their tummies anymore. Some babies just don't want to. My son rolls to get from room to room. He gets into crawling position and rocks, but then rolls around still. I don't get it. But you are still well in the normal range, just keep trying.

Same here! I am so frustrated! I just read on another thread about babies who are younger than Paisley that are pulling themselves up!!! Argh!

Yes, so true about the different rates. It is so frustrating at times. I mean, Paisley refuses to hold herself up when I hold her, so I wonder is Paisley is just lazy at times. Don't worry, before you know it... he will be crawling all over the place!

j ust remember every baby is different and does things differently some babies dont crawl untill alot later if at all while others start early

thanks for that bailey does sit yet either has just got his second tooth.. but yes i spose he will do it in his own time when he is ready .. was just worried because normally they start around 6 month mark

Babies do things at different rates. My daughter isn't even rolling over yet but will use our hands to pull herself into a sitting position. I wouldn't worry that your little one isn't crawling!

My daughter is 7.5 months 3-3-10. She is not crawling. She barely can sit on her own for thirty seconds and topples over. She was 3 weeks early, so she is technically the same age as your son, being her due date was March 23rd. My husband never crawled. He said he just started to walk one day. Don't worry and try not to compare. I know it is hard not to because I do it all the time. My friend's baby is 6 months and she crawls backwards, sits up and has two teeth. If I constantly compare, I am going to lose it. Every baby at their own pace!
