ALL INDUCEDlabor MOMMIES...what should i expect? getting induced tonight.

Tonight at 6 they are starting me on cervidil and tommorow morning they'll be putting me on pitocin.
is it possibly for me to start going in labor just from the cervidil? I'm nervous about the pitocin because i've heard it can affect the baby's heartbeat?

Does the cervidil hurt? Did it start up any contractions for any of you?
Also, im worried the induction won't work and I'll have to get a c-section... I'm overdue so my doc wanted to deliver this week (he has really full schedule this week so chose tommorow morning)

As of friday i was a bit over 1cm dilated and about 50% effaced and have lost my plug and had bloody show. I also have had infrequent contractions. do you think because i'm in the early stages of labor it will work better?????

oooh good . i was so worried they might be like "Oh you are having contractions, come back when they're closer together!" i mean, my induction is scheduled and im supposed to stay the night so its not like they would be losing any beds or anything lol...

If you're contracting on your own and scheduled for induction, they may keep you and get things started sooner. I was supposed to be induced ended up going in labor on my own before my scheduled time, they kept me at the hospital. They might be able to skip the cervidal if you're progressing and just give you pitocin. Good luck!

im starting to have sort of regular contractions about 9 minutes apart. if i am contracting wheni get to hospital...will they not induce and send me home?

Becky I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I'm a week and 4 days overdue and getting induced tomorrow. I have never heard of cervidil, not really sure what it does. I wouldn't be to worried my Dr told me today that just being overdue and a little dilated and effaced is better than starting from being closed up and not effaced at all. I'm 3 1/2 cm and 90% effaced and like you have had my wonderful "bloody show" and lost my mucus plug.



If you have questions I wouldn't hesitated to ask the Dr or Nurse tonight. I'm sure they are more than understanding and it will probably make you a little more relaxed.
