My daughter will be turning 1 yr old next week, And she still doesn't crawl don't know if she ever will, Doesn't go from laying down to sitting she will just lay there in her crib and make noises and kick her legs till I come and get her. If i put her up to sit she has now just started to pull herself up to stand when she has something to grab.. she does say words like, mama, dada, yumm, yeah and makes a lot of other sounds I just don't know what words she's trying to say.. I'm just getting worried that she's behind because I know a lot of baby's that are younger then her and are doing more things then she does..she has 4 teeth in as well..
Do you think I should be worried or does she sound normal??? I'm tired of getting well my baby does this and my baby does that does yours do anything like that from my sister-in-law as our kids are 10 days apart..

Thanks for any input

btw.. if you are super worried.. i would look into First Steps... they send a professional early childhood teacher trained specifically in development adn training of infants and toddlers... my son was wakling and crawling at a very early age but i still have her come because i like to know and make sure that he is fine in all other developmental areas. .it's really cool and they screen your child twice a year and do lots of activities with them and then show you where your child is developmentally cognitively, verbally, motion, etc. with other kids his/her age... then she gives you tips to help your child to reach the next level of development .. it's awesome :) It's called Parents as Teachers... just enter it into the internet and you'll find it :)

it doesn't cost a dime..it's state funded too :)

My girl seems around the same stage as you and I have been reassured it's not something to worry about. She has been shifting weight to her knees more though, so sometimes I'll put the toys out of reach to encourage her to mobilize. I will also stand her up holding something (she doesn't pull herself to standing, either), so she can cruise and work those muscles. She will walk, holding our fingers and gets lots of exercise that way. Some babies never crawl. It's frustrating, but crawling is not even a milestone, so don't worry! Find out what you can do to encourage her to build strength, and of course be patient!

All babies do things in their own time. My daughter just turned 1 on the 9th and doesnt walk or crawl she is just a scooter. My doc said she is prob one of those kids that likes to do things their own way and will do it when she is ready. Just be patient she will do it when she is ready. my daughter can also say a few words and has 4 teeth. she cant go from laying to sitting but can pull up. my doc says she is just fine. she will be running soon enough! Good luck dont worry just enjoy watching your daughter learn!

My son seems to be doing everything early, except sleeping through the night. My sister had her baby 7 weeks before me and at first she would say things to me about what my son was doing. And then all of the sudden her son stopped having milestones and mine zoomed way ahead. I feel cautious when I talk to her cuz I dont want her to feel awkward about what our kids are doing. But wish I could share with her all of the milestones. My nephew is 14 months old and is not walking, just started pulling himself up on things, etc. I think they all grow at their own rate and learn to do things when they want to. I hate that there is a guideline on when kids should be doing things. Bah humbug. Let em be kids. Doesnt mean your LO isnt brilliant, may just happen to be that she will be a genious!!!!

Sounds exactly like my baby and my SIL!!! My SIL's son is a month older then my daughter and everytime I talk to her she's bragging about something, since my response is always that's awesome or well Adrianna is still just sitting there she has now started trying to compare her son to my 5 year olds milestones when he was a baby. My response is I don't remember when he started doing ____ fill in the blank.
But seriously my daughter does not crawl, just started pulling herself to stand, she won't sit up on her own but sits unsupported when we put her in that position, her mode of transport is by scooting on her butt to get from point a to b, your baby is just fine. Oh I don't know how often you see your niece or nephew but my SIL lies about what he's doing because when I see him he isn't doing half of it!
