I start noticing a couple of spots on my boy's face when he was about 3 mo's old. Now it is getting worse on one side of his cheek. It is about almost the size of a quarter and looking nasty. He also scratches the top of his head and he is making marks on his head.

I have tried Hydrocortizone (like my doctor told me too) didn't work, I have tried triple A cream, didn't work and now I am trying this Vanicream that supposedly doesn't have anything in it and it doesn't seem to be working.

He sees his dr on Wed and I don't know what to do for him. It wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't on his face. Any idea's or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My son also has eczema oh his face, mainly forehead. My doctor told me it is usually because of some type of allergy whether it is your soap, lotion, or detergent. In my son's case it is a milk allergy and I have to buy special formula. While it is important to treat topically you really want to find out was is cause the reaction in the first place and it should clear right up.

Well, he saw his dr today, she scraped the area and tested it. Turns out it is a fungus infection (yeast infection) due to his drooling. So she prescribed a topical cream that I have to apply 4 times a day and it may take up to 4 to 8 weeks for it to disappear. Sooo relieved to know what it is and now it should get better. Thanks everyone for your input. I really appreciate it!!!

if it makes you feel any better, most babies with eczema grow out of it by the time they are 2.

Thanks everyone! I was talking to my one daycare moms and she believes it might be psoriasis cause she herself has it. I just don't know, I will be bring that up to the dr tomorrow as a possibility, if it turns out to be that I know we will deal with it but from what I have been reading it's an autoimmune disease and there is no cure. I supposed that is the same with Ezema too. Ugghh, this is soo frustrating and I feel so bad for him!!!!

MUSTELA STELATOPIA PRODUCTS.

My daughter has it on her cheeks (just right in front of her ears), her left arm and both knees and I tried a million things to clear it up and nothing seemed to even remotely help until I tried the Stelatopia line.
It is on the pricey side, but it is REALLY worth it.
If you're not all about getting more than one thing I'd recommend just the moisturizing cream. You apply it twice a day and it's what really made a difference in her skin. After I saw how well it worked I went out and bought the Milky Bath Oil and the Cream Cleanser.

My son had eczema and all I use is Alpha Keri Oil/ Lotion... My mum used the same on me as I had it really bad and it worked too. Bathe him in the oil then rub the lotion on after his bath.. Stay away from Johnson and Johnson's Products they are the worst for causing eczema... Another thing I'm using now is Curash Oatmeal Bath wash/ Shampoo but only started on the Alpha Keri first and once it started to get better started using that in his bath with the oil as well.. Hope that helps my little man had it really bad on his face too...

My now 2 year old son has eczema issues. What works best for him is a combo of Hyrocortizone and Eucrine cream on a daily basis until his flair up goes away then every other day for about a week, then once a week for about a month then as needed. When he has a flair up we start all over again with it. We also only give him a soap bath twice a week with moisturizing soap and water baths in between to get the dirt off of him. We also use ALL free and clear laundry soap.
We also found out that it gets worse when he eats bananas and strawberries. Might want to also look at your baby's diet to see if it might be an "allergic" type reaction.

And another thing I heard that giving them like an oatmeal bath with Aveeno baby helps

My son also has ezcema but its on like his legs and arms. I didn't use any of that cream stuff, it could be ur son's baby shampoo or lotion you use, I heard Aveeno baby works great for ezcema. With my son, I only bath him once every few days and I always rub lotion all over his body about twice everyday to keep his skin hydrated. It seems to help but he still has a little bit of ezcema. I heard that it is genetic which I have it on my arms. But what could be making your babies worse could be anything from his shampoo or lotion, or even the detergent you use, it just means he has sensitive skin. Hope this helps and I hope you find something that works!! Good luck and I hope your lil man feels better
