My 6 week old daughter hates the bouncer AND swing! Because of this we either have to hold her or keep her in her bassinet! She likes to sit up on our laps so I know that's not the issue! How do I get her to sit independently?

Maybe mamaRoo would have been a good choise http://mamaroospot.com/ . It is both swing and bouncer.

I wear a sling. The brand is peanutshell http://www.thepeanutshell.com/ My baby sleeps in there while I clean, eat, etc. and she loves it (and I have my hands free).

You could also try the Boppy pillow. It doesn't move but she can still be propped up and look around.

it could be the angle of the seat. my son hates the swing i have but when we take him to grandpa's he loves the swing that they have over there and it sits back more then ours. instead of a bouncy seat he has a rocker that turns into a rocking chair for when he's a toddler and he loves it.

It might be that she is still just too young for the angle of the seat. My son didn't like his swing and bouncy seat until he was about 3 mos old and my daughter is only 7wks old and loves her swing and tolerates the bouncy seat. Try something that leans back a little more...Most of the time I have my daughter in her car seat carrier instead of her bouncy seat or swing just to sit. Then I can also rock her with my toes at times and hang toys from the carrier handle.

She's still building up the necessary muscles to sit up independently. The swing she may not like the motion, my first one hated it and I haven't even tried it yet with my daughter. I'm not sure when you say bouncer if you mean an actual bouncer or if you're referring to a bouncy seat. If your talking about a bouncer she's probably way too little. My daughter loves her bouncy seat we swaddle her and put it on vibrate and she actually sleeps in there. If your daughter is happy in her bassinet then let her stay in there or hold her, she's too young to be sitting up on her own, you've got some time before she does it on her own without support. One other suggestion is try a boppy pillow to sit her up on a very slight incline.
