Its normal I m not bleeding red but still have a brownish blood doc said if you breast feed it can last alot longer even past 6 weeks it will stop soon and you might be having your first period after giving birth . Call your doc if you get to worried good luck

I had a c-section as well & only bleed for a couple of weeks BUT I did get my period last week & it has lasted 10 days & shows no signs of slowing yet... lame! :D

I still am and am almost 6 weeks postpartum. I had a planned c-section. It is normal, but if you are concerned call your doctor, that is what they are there for.

Becky chances are you are having your regular mensuration period...you should call your OBGYN if you soak 2-3 napkins per day. If not, then be happy because it helps in loosing the weight gained during pregnancy.

i bled for about 4 weeks then it turned yellow and then i started to bleed again...turns out it was my period...who knew!!?? i thought breastfeeding would make your period stay away longer

bleeding is lessening up now ..hoping its finally over...my little man is 5 wks now.. is it true that BF can make a period take longer to come ??? i'm planning on BF until he's at least 6mo

i bleed for 15 weeks with my 1st none stop and then with my 2nd i bleed for 2 weeks hes now nearly 6 weeks n have just come on my period

Guess what? I'm almost 8 weeks post partum and I'm still bleeding. My doctor says it's 'normal' but it's really getting on my nerves. I had a normal vaginal delivery but passed some serious blood clots for the first couple of weeks after delivery.. now it's like a light period but it won't stop.

you poor ladies i really feel for you, my bleeding was really light after a week then stopped by 2 wks, i had a vaginal breech birth with 2hrs of pushing, and havent had a period yet, im now 8wks postpartum

i bled for 6 weeks, started my period right after and am still bleeding because of the IUD. blah it never ends

I gave birth 7 weeks ago and had a period while still bleeding in my postpartum stages....I stopped bleeding around late my 5th week early 6th week. This was my 4th child. It's normal, they say some can bleed 6-7 weeks after giving birth.

I bleed for almost the whole 6 weeks postpartum off and on. It would be heavy one day and llight the next. I breastfeed my baby and I had a vaginal delivery with post partum hemmorhage with retained placenta.

My son is now 6.5 wks old (born 3/19/2010) and I stopped bleeding for about a week but it started spotting again today it also depends on how much u do after it stops cause I cleaned house for 2 days straight so thats why mine has started up again. You have to make sure you don't do to much until your 6 wk checkup. I haven't had mine yet as its hard to get an appointment right at that time here I go for mine on May 10th. I also have a 23 month old daughter so have been on the go since I gave birth but since I had a natural birth with no complications and a fast labor (2hrs), I am able to do alot with her. I think I bled off and on for 2 months when I gave birth to my daughter too, but I did have complications with her and she was natural too but had to have an episomty and I tore bad with her so wasn't able to move fast for 2 wks after I had her and that helped.

Hi i have a 2 month old baby girl and i bled for neally seven weeks but had some big clots come out i went back to my doctor and had a ultra sound that revieled that i still had some placenta attached to my uterine wall and i had to have a curette if any one has this i would go straight to your doctor as it can be really painful

I bled until 6wks PP.
Are you on any hormonal BC? That can effect it too!

im 6 weeks postpartum and i bled for 2 weeks then it turned yellow for another 2 weeks and wen that stopped i started bleeding on and off for about a week and then i got a period so i havent really had a break from it yet as well and i had a natural birth with no complications i think its normal but if ur worried see ur doctor :)

Ya im at six weeks and still bleeding it can come and go for a wee while im sure i was near 8 weeks ish with my dd when it stopped for good. it was light but there and anoying.

I bled/spotted for the entire 6 weeks! :( I, too had a c-section, but it was planned. Nurse told me at my 6 week appt that you can bleed for 6 weeks. At least I haven't gotten my period yet, like some of you. Thank goodness for small miracles.

Yes, my docter said that you can bleed up to a month then you could get your period right after which has happened to me
