Can a faster or slower heartbeat in your baby depict whether they're a boy or girl?

My baby's heartbeat is always high 150s-low 160s .... he's a boy ! .. Don't believe all the old wives tales =)

i believed this but then i stopped as soon as i found out i was having a boy!!! His heart rate was always high and was in the 180's at one point. so i would say no it's an old wives take for some, but then again it could be right for some...... =) GOOD LUCK!!!!

that is the way we've always guessed as well. fats heart beat= girl. but either way 50/50. my son was usually high 120's. and this little girl hasn't been below 150 so it worked for us, but who knows. more reliable way is when you had sex in comparison to when you conceived. Female sperm are fast but die quick male sperm are slow but live longer so...... hey that is actual science.

Well... i went for my 20 week ultrasound yesterday.... turns out we're having a boy!!! 4 weeks ago, his heartbeat was averaged around 160bpm...now it is avg around 155 bpm. He's very healthy :) so excited and glad i finally found out!

Sorry its not true it did work with my dd whos started at 167 and slowly went down as time went on. With this one the heart beat was 162 at the first scan and i just found out last week its a boy. defenitly an old wifes tale but its so much fun useing then to try and guess. wait and see at the scan and hope they can tell, Good luck

I was always told it was a girl if they had a fast heart beat. But I have a boy on the way and his heart beat the first couple visits were like 170s and now it's about 145 - 150. With my daughter it stayed up in the 170s and occassionally in the 180s most of the time except toward the end.

My baby has had a fairly fast heartbeat usually around 160.. today i got the sonogram- it was at 155 and its most definately a boy.. so i suppose that sells me on what i have heard.

Yeah, I wish it were a good indication- But everywhere i read- hoping to hear that is is a true sign~ It says its just old wives tale... :-( sorry. But there is this thing called inteligene?.. from 10wks on it has an 80% accuracy rate(the one video said) of detecting the babys sex.. Its like $35 - and i hear good results.. there is info on the website they have Inteligene? Or Inteligender .com i think its inteligender.. anywho! good luck!

Yes my first 2 are girl and there heart beats where between 155 and 165 so yeah girl um but I pregnant again and due in march and the heart beat is 152 so i really don't know i go for my first ultrasound Nov.5 so will see

I have heard the same thing about girls having faster heart beats, not sure if it is true or not. I am pregnant with my 2nd boy and I know boy heat beats were in the upper 140's. You will know for sure in a couple weeks. Best wishes

It's not true at all. It all depends on what you and your baby were doing at the time they listened. If you had anything like sweets, chocolate, pop, anything to rev up your heart it'll do the same for you baby. Also if the baby is awake and active, or asleep and not moving. My first appointment to lisent I had been playing dodge ball with my students for about 30 min. and then went straight to my app. The HB was 175, then the next time it was 150. It's fun to guess, you have a 50/50 shot at being right! Don't buy pink just yet!
