Why have the same theme again? Think something different that your kid can easily relate such as a pet animal, a particular color or simply a rainbow party, a balloon theme party, Mickey & Minnie theme party, etc. Check this link; it has awesome suggestions for first birthday.

Oh we are also going to make a bunch of cd's with pictuers of the past year and hand them out to all the family and fiends if they want one. We will have the DVD playing on the tv during the party!

my son is 9 months old and i already have his birthday planned and booked, cake ordered and invitations printed just waiting till closer to the party (march 20th) to send out. we have a lot of out os state family so planning this early was important for them but i was so excited i dont think i could have waited much longer anyway. we are doing an ocean theme. but we are having it at a pizza place so only thing that will really show the theme is the invites, cake and little candies i am making. the plates will be provided from the pizza place although ive been debating buying my own as well as napkins. im so excited for the party, but i wish he wasnt growing up so fast. bitter sweet :/

my little one will be a year old in a month and a few weeks...geez that is too quick for me. i miss her being a new born lol. but i wanted to do something centered around disney and Kingdom hearts.
im doing cakes to make the shape of mickeys head. as for as the rest of the cake i have no clue that is the only idea i have for that.
playhousedisney.com has print out party hats and invitations and activities to do. so i may go do that.

My son loves Curious George and I found such a cute cake, so I'm going to incorprate Curious George and Jungle Babies into one... I'm not doing a real big party though, because I can't see him really getting it, but close friends and family. I thought about sports since I too love sports, but since his "best friend" next to Mommy is his Curious George, it just makes sense, lol

my son is about to turn 3. For his first birthday i did a Harley Davidson theme. It was real cute. for his 2nd, we did a lightning mcqueen theme, he loved that. I am not sure what we will be doing for his 3rd birthday. I think I might do some kind of ballerina theme for my daughter's first birthday, but not sure yet.

Even though he's a boy, I love Spring and spring/Easter decor and colors, so we're doing a spring theme. His cake will just say happy birthday but the other cake for everyone else will have a garden on it and tulips.

I still haven't figured a theme.. maybe airplanes like his baby shower was (and his room is), but I'm going to blow up some pics (i'm a photographer) .. newborn, 1 month, 3 month, 6, 9, and one year and make them 11x13 and put them in white frames and display them around the house for guests to see how he's changed. I'm also going to do invitations that look like nappys..and for favors for guests (a lot of out of town people will be there), i saved all of his baby food jars adn am putting votive candles in them, wrapping a gingham ribbon around with a small paper that says his name and birthdate

my girl "hoots" all the time, so we're probably doing an owl theme....although, i've been hooked on dr. seuss since i found out i was pregnant...i didnt end up doing that theme for the nursery or the baby shower like i originally wanted to, so its still in the running for her bday...... whatever i go with, im making her a matching tutu!!

You are WAAAAYYY over thinking this! A child's first birthday is more for you and your husband than for your child. He will not even remember it, but it is a time rather for you and your husband to celebrate where you were and what you were doing that day the previous year... bringing your little angel into this world!

We have two children, and thinking back to our oldest's first birthday, although it was memorable and fun, and we did keep it simple, I still think we went way overboard for it. This time around, we will still invite the entire family on both sides to celebrate, but we aren't going to to overboard with themes and such... it's more stress and work than it's worth.

Instead, get a bottle of wine (provided you drink the stuff) and toast the anniversary!

I have been thinking of what to do for my son's 1st birthday since almost the month after he was born. (I am crazy, I know!) Anyways, I am doing a barn yard animals theme. We live on a small farm and some of my and my husband's family are farmers, so i think it will be great!!:D If his bday was in the summer i would have had it at his grandparents farm, but since his bday is march 12th, we are having it indoors. It shall be interesting!

My son is almost nine months.. His first birthday will be "old mcdonald had a farm" theme.. Kids will come in get a birthday hat and moms will wrote their favorite animale on the hat and have that animale glued on. Also have farm animales hid around house or backyard for a scavenger hunt. All followed by cake and ice cream. I can't wait :)

My son's nick name is "King", so I'ma rent a building at my local school where I'ma have those big blow-up things that u jump in and slide down on...I'ma have alot of stations set-up to have a big event called King's Day...I'ma have a art center, basketball center, football center, etc...I want a Mickey Theme...He is going to come in on a power wheel wearing a crown... So far It sounds nice, but we will see...

My son is 8 in a half months and both him and my daughter have birthdays in march. (one week apart) I thought I would just do the same thing for him that I did for her. I did a theme but it was just a girly theme no princess' or anything just pink purple all that. We bough a helium machine from Wal Mart and blew up all the balloons and just let them go on the roof. We had quiet a few small kids at the party so it was good because we didnt have to worry about balloons popping & it looked really really cool.

I have been thinking to…my son is a big fan of Sponge Bob Square Pants, Elmo, Dora, and The Backyardagins…so its between those.
My son is also half Korean and will have a traditional Tol celebration as well…so im really trying to figure out how to incorporate that with the themes…because the celebration requires him to be in traditional dress…

I think we'll have a Disney Princess theme for our daughters first birthday. Pretty much make everything pink pink pink. I'm looking forward to the decorating, we didn't find out what we were having so I didn't have a theme for the baby shower.

yeah my husband is wanting football theme he is so big on football that he wanted my baby shower to be football! lol my sons room is Michigan Wolverines and everyout outfit he has seems to have a football on it but i hate to break it to him that we are not doing a football theme birthday party every year! lol

A good theme to celebrate his firts birthday is airplanes, but my LO is turning 9 months old on saturday so I`m thinking boats and sea theme `cause I love it, even though his bedroom theme is cars. But I have a little problem with my husband `cause he wants baseball theme, he`s a fan of it, so we`re not decide it yet, but maybe I`ll win, jaja! Good Luck!
